Two of my str8 buds have been trying to drag me to Bangkok. They both live there maybe half the year. They show me pics of all the hot bar girls and Thai girls they screw around with. Then they claim the Thai boys are just as available. I'm just not into orientals though. Still, I'm probably eventually gonna head out to Bangkok, take them up on the offer, the place looks and sounds great.

They are not part of the common vernacular, no, but those are the exact and perfect words to use in this context. We have drifted into an anthropological tangent. These words are part of the language of anthropology.

It is NOT racist nor is it impolite to state one's preferences by identifying a race - if that is the deciding factor. Oriental tends to denote Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and men of other nations deemed Oriental -- while India and Pakistan for example are also Asian (south-asian) countries. I think, when it comes to sexually, we all have our own preferences and tastes. The question remains; can it be the thing that guarantee a long term relationship? I'm an Asian, and i find it both Asian and Caucasian are attractive.

Everyone has their own unique taste, so we need to allow expression of these tastes. Not everyone who is Asian likes white guys & vice-versa. Same with "inter-generational" attraction.

My personal tastes may include younger Asians AND whites, as well as some older Asian men, but I'd venture to say that there are more younger guys who aren't attracted to older guys of any ethnic group than one ethnic group not being attracted to another in the same age group.

As long as I don't force my tastes on someone else just because I'm attracted to them, we'll all get along fine. If a mutual attraction leads somewhere, all the better.

Darn right dude I use the general anthropological term quite often in studies to differentiate a wide group of nationalities... I am from the Negroid strata and I have no issue using it... there's nothing pejorative in those terms.

Although this will take a total different aspect if one were to use them to hurt somebody, in this case even the word is not the clenching matter, it's the tone and context in when it was voiced out. And that is called a communication mishap.

But as someone said it earlier, when in my eyes you're hot... you're just hot and it really really doesn't matter of what ethnic background the person comes from. I have an Aussie dude as BF, my daughter come from a mixed with me and a Latina girl from Venezuela and my youngest child (not from the same mother), a 10 year old boy is mix between a thai, latino and black. Yeah I predict he's going to be quite the heart breaker in few years from now.

Which shows, in fact, the euro-centric nature of the term "Oriental". In North America, the term "Oriental" is out-moded, and is considered by many Asian-Americans as offensive. Oriental is often used to describe objects... It is rarely used to describe people, where the term "Asian" is much more neutral.

Of course, in Britain, the term "Oriental" is more readily acceptable, where the word "Asian" is used to describe people from South Asia (i.e. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh).

Actually, 'oriental' doesn't mean 'the east', except metonymically. It refers to 'rising', ie. of the sun. Originally it referred to what we now call the Middle East and South Asia. The West developed a massive sexual fetish for the supposed sexual liberalism of the East, codified by Oriental studies. I'm one of many whose skin crawls when people use the term.
