For the past 3 weeks all of my "free downloads" from a number of different file download companies have hovered around 25 kps. The exceptions are Hot File and Media fire that I know of. When I first arrived at GH all the file companies gave free downloads of about 200 kps give or take 50 kps. Then about in March, Xenubox appeared and a race to the bottom speed began. I think the speeds were around 50 kps and in any event it resulted in Admin banning this file host (see Help threads for 3-10-2013. They were "unbanned" when they changed their approach to doing business at GH about a week later. Things appeared to have gone back to normal for free downloads speeds. But for the last month all my free downloads have fallen. At first all the free downloads at file hosts "required you to sign in as a free member" and you retained speeds of 150 kps for free downloads. if you did not register you had a dismal 50 kps. So I registered at most of them. then 2 weeks ago being registered did not matter. I started to have speeds of 20-25 kps from most file hosts. Downloads that use to take an hour and half took 3-4 hours. I posted in the Help section of GH on 5-24-13 about Deerfile giving me speeds of 15-17kps. not many of you made any response to having speeds of 15 kps so I let it die and do not use Deerfile. but now with so many of the file hosts giving me 25 kps I have to wonder....at what point does free down loads become irrelevant? 15 or 10 or 5 or 1 kps? :? I really hope that this starts a discussion. :thumbs up:
