Sorry, only in german. Stumbled across it: Youth in Isreal

http://anonym.to/http://www.spiegel...dern-und-jugendlichen-in-israel-a-979628.html

But there are also pictures and the "blue collars" would not read the text anyway, would they? :p

Reading ihno's comments are always a breath of fresh air :)

But contrary to what some people think many 'blue collar' guys DO know how to read and make use of that skill religiously. Of course, some 'blue collar' guys are NOT multilingual and that does limit what is available for consumption. I read a lot of stuff each day. I don't read anything in German but that isn't such a big deal nowadays, is it?

I try to keep up with my friends' posts here and on other forums. I try to participate and add to the conversations/discussions/'debates'. I read a lot of news articles with an eye for something that will be of interest and spur discussions. I apologize if my efforts aren't on the level of some more educated contributors. I am aware of my linguistic limitations and I do appreciate others fluency in more that just English. I hope I never come across as snobbish or elitist.

It's all in good fun I'm sure. As ihno said '...there are also pictures...' ;)

ps - the photos of the Israeli children are beautiful even if a couple of the girls photos are of an almost semi-erotic composition they are all beautiful. the greenhouse photo sparks a somber emotional response in me... it's still beautiful :)

Who cares? If people can take pictures of tourist attractions, then they have a right to take pictures of themselves or selfies in front of tourist attractions too. That's something which has gone on for many decades now, before the internet and cell phones even existed, so I don't give a fuck about someone's generational hatred of young people for photography or clothing styles.

What I find offensive are for instance pictures of adult Israeli settlers sitting outside with popcorn and cheering every time they hear a bomb being dropped on Gaza, killing more children in addition to the over 1,200 Palestinian children that Israel has murdered over the last ten years. The brutality of Israel's occupation and their rabid right wing government's using the holocaust (which included 5 million non-jews murdered too) as justification for oppressing and killing the Palestinian's is a real reason to be offended. The holocaust has been exploited for money and for political reasons for a very long time now, and not primarily by us 'millennials.'

The riddle of the sphinx

"What goes on four feet in the morning,
two feet at noon,
and three feet in the evening?"

Human. (It was a baby, then a man, then finally grew old.)

All who live long enough will go through these generational changes. There is no escaping it.

As a member of an older generation I see things through a filter that highlights some of the recklessness of youth. It will be the same for each of you who live long enough.

As a member of the younger generation I saw things through a filter that highlighted the obsolescence of the aged. It will be the same for all younger generations who live long enough.

My father looked at my generation, that of the 50's & 60's, as reckless. The 'Free Love' generation was one name for it. In hind sight I see what my father saw then. We were reckless. Maybe we should have heeded some of the wisdom they tried to share with us. But youth will have it's way. We made some cardinal mistakes which led to excesses of addiction and promiscuity that cast a blight not only on our generation but on all generations that follow.

We have no moral high ground from which to judge the youth of today. We may have some wisdom to share from all the mistakes and experiences we stumbled through on our way to becoming the 'aged' generation.

There is little chance our wisdom would be wanted or appreciated. Youth will always have it's way. We cannot change that. We can only watch and lament how reckless youth is. We know. We were reckless in our youth as well. It is one of the immutable cycles of life.

Try not to rush through your youthfulness. It seems children are always in such a hurry to 'grow up'. They should not rush so. It seems the youthful adult generations are always in such a rush to push aside their elders. They do not see how quickly their time will come to be the 'aged' generation.

Try not to judge us too harshly. We see ourselves in you. We want to save ourselves from making all the same mistakes over and over again.

You will probably be flip about what I've just said. I probably would have done the same in my youth. I understand what it is to be young.

:)
