BBC 1 - Question Time at 10.35pm

This is going to be an interesting programme! There were riots outside the BBC during recording.

Nick Griffin the BNP leader (British National Party) our version of the fascists is on the panel. A total racist and anti gay !

If you can get the stream it'll be worth a look. I don't really know what I think about about him appearing. On the one hand he does have two MEP members in Brussels, but should a man with with disgusting views heading a party that hates anyone who isn't white and heterosexual be allowed such airtime?

On the other hand maybe having his views heard and attacked by ordinary people could do some good.

For those who don't know, this is a TV programme than could never happen in the USA or many other countries, because in the norm we have our ministers of government putting their head on a chopping block in front of an audience and have no knowledge of the questions about to be asked. This scares most politicians, and from what I've read the American politicians just can't believe anyone would do it!

Nick Griffin , on the other hand, is something different. He's no chance of getting any power in this country thankfully, but should he be given this sort of airtime??

For real, politics are like a trainwreck you don't wanna look but you're fascinated none the less. America definitely wouldn't air this. lol

I have a love/hate relationship with politics. It's fascinating and frustrating at the same time, but it is something I'm interested in.

This was a damn good programme! Did he look uncomfortable!! And when the question of that ghastly Daily Mail article about Stephen Gateley came up I'm not sure he knew what to answer!!

you are correct X:) this would never happen here in USA, and are president would never be put in the house or reps and have to answer Qs from them, like your PM has to in Parliament...I love that about your government:) lol

This is a TV programme - it's not questions from fellow politicians, it's questions from the general public!!

^^ For real... :))

I hate we even have two party systems. Like Chris Rock said, we have a gang mentality when it comes to politics.

@Jamaal: Ask shonen what I told him about our political system and our latest elections... besides... don't ask him about our voting system, I don't think he understood it ^^

There is no such thing as democracy. We are led to believe in the fiction of it. There is no point in sweating over it, we have debates, we have perhaps a more open version than some, but we have no real democracy.

Democracy im essence can't work anyway. We have at best a half democracy and it suits us, the real democracy was in theory "communism" and we know how that worked in practice!!

So we have to make the best of what we have, at least we have freedom to speak out, freedom to love who we want and freedom to marry or "civil partnership" someone of the same sex.

No point getting upset over the banker wankers and all those, we have a freedom that was never there for past generations in a lot of things, so we should be grateful .

Now we need Ritsuka's views ;)
