Being a Top

Here's a thread I don't think exists.

I've always been a bottom but recently I entered a relationship where I end up topping a lot. Except, I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm spending more time staring at his face and gagging his reactions if I've done something right.

What are some skills and 'wisdom' we need to pass on to those new at topping? Any advice?

Looking him in the eye and gauging his reaction is a good start. You need to learn to read his expressions and body language. To tell if those little grunts, groans, whimpers, gasps, and screams are from pleasure, pain, or a little of both. Vary the speed and angle of your thrust and his reaction will tell you when you hit the spot. And don't be afraid to get a little rough. If he's responding positively to you, i.e. pushing back against you, or trying to pull you closer, try pumping harder and faster. If he's trying to push you back or pull away, then slow down some. Just read his body and adjust your tempo accordingly. Me personally, I like an "Athletic Fuck", hard and fast, but not brutal. Too many inexperienced tops make the mistake of being too gentle. Slow and easy is fine for starters, but once you get settled in, it's time to pick up the pace. Find that fine line between pleasure and pain and straddle it. And finally, just ask him to tell you what he wants, if he likes what your doing, if he wants you to slow down or fuck harder. Encourage him to be vocal about his desires. Just communicate...

Thanks, I never gave much thought about being a top, always worked on being a bottom. I think I'm being too gentle, because he keeps pushing back and asking to go faster. But I'm freaked I'm going to rip something.

Well I'm a bottom as well and I like it to bottom and to be fucked so very much. The best moment for me is when my BF is pressing into me - wow, great! But from time to time he wants from me that I should fuck him. But always I think I'm a disappointment to him - he has never said that to me but I think I can feel it. So I'm saying always: "Cobbler, stick to your last!"
I'm a good bottom and I can give as a bottom much pleasure. So why change?
