I have Windows 7 OS and I have a real problem with "Aero Peek". I have used all the standard methods listed on help discussion blogs for shutting down this problem program and cannot do it. I have used "regedit" and shut it off that way and nothing happens. I have used the start button to the control panel to the system page and the rest of the string and shut or unclicked all the aero peek options there. I have used the used the method of clicking on the windows task bar to reach the options page where a box to shut off aero peek exists and again nothing happens. I have clicked on the box at the right of the task bar and called "the aero peek button task" bar and again nothing happens. This is a Microsoft and just having so many ways to shut it off says that this program can be turned off. It will not turn off on my computer. Many of you are real pros at this and I need your help. Thank you ahead of time for your assistance. :big hug:

failed

thanks"Cute Prince 101"but all your suggestions were tried and failed. whenever my mouse pointer touches an HTML item Aero Peek is there. Some are huge boxes that eclipse my view of what it is I am trying to click onto. thanks for the offer to help. Something else is going on with my computer. Someone has changed my Aero peak program controls off so none will respond to the commands and downloads I have made to shut the program off. :(
any other ideas? any one know of how all my attempts to shut the program fail???~X(

Maybe some glitch has got onto your computer. If you know it's only been happening for say 3 weeks why not try a "System restore" to a point before it started and see if that cures it? It's not guaranteed but worth a try... it sorted me out last year when I got a "rootkit" problem that all other tools and scans couldn't remove.

thank you for the suggestion and I will try that. This problem started about 6 months ago slowly at first now everything I touch with my pointer lights up with aero peek. Somebody hates me. there is no value to doing this if it is a virus or rootkit. I have used avast virus and rootkit scans regularly and there is never anything found. I have no doubt that someone has rewritten my registry to stop me from turning it off. I think program has been hidden in the registry and I cannot find it. :butslap:

And another method to try: Deactivate the Service for Designs under Windows. This Service provides all the features for animated windows and more, including Aero Peek. :)
