Catergories

This is my first post, so bear with me and feel free to correct me.

I'd like to suggest the implementation of catergories onto the site. It will make it work more effectively. Like, there are already catergories (somewhat) but, if you could add catergories like the picture icons (bareback, twink, solo, etc) it would make it easier to navigate the site. Right now, those implements aren't being used to their full capabilities and the site it harder to navigate because of it.
If you'd catergorise, people could get the type of video they want quickly without having to browse through many others. For example, on the web cam section there many pictures with the "twink" picture description, and one guy commented he preferred muscle and that twink wasn't his thing, now he'd have to scroll through many "twink" threads, but if they were organised by the tags, it's be much easier to find.

hi unicornsbreakwind :wave:, and welcome to the forum.

we are highly unlikely to add the types of categories that you are suggesting.

GH is like your favourite opportunity shop .. drop in, browse around, and find some treasures, often unexpected and in places you may not suspect.

a great many of our posters run threads that cannot be easily pigeonholed into one simple category, and feature a variety of "types" (how i hate that term in this context)

browsing through such individual threads you will find guys of varying ages, body types and ethnicity.
this diversity is, we feel, one of the strongest features of GH. the inclusiveness is such a good change from the often restrictive and misleading tags that posters use on most other sources of this type.
so often the classification is in the eye of the beholder, and will vary from what others may see.
(eg. how often elsewhere have you pressed on a tag to find a whole bunch of stuff you don't think fits that description?? ..)

and then, speaking with my poster's hat on, part of my intent is to be inclusive rather than restrictive, and it was the acceptance of this that attracted me to this forum and makes me stay

No, I really don't think you sound like an idiot, and I'm pretty sure that zortek just as myself really appreciate that one of our newest members has done some serious thinking to make GH better - Kudos to you, unicornsbreakwind!

But I'm afraid that, on this matter, I disagree for all the reasons zortek so eloquently has put it in his post - there never have been and will never be any perfect categorization, every categorization will have it's own problems, and at rock bottom - categorization is in the eye of the beholder...

And since I'm one of the worst "unpidgeonholeable" posters to give zortek and the other moderators and admins severe headache, I really don't want to make bad things even badder...:rofl:

Maybe make it so that you search these categories. You can adjust this Forums search engine really well, but it baffles me that you can't search one of these specific categories (bareback, Twink, hunk etc.) If it is possible, it would be nice to know how.
But making further Sub-Forums isn't necessary.
