Long story short - Last week while in a hurry to leave for work, I spilled coffee on the keyboard of my Blackberry, and totally fried it. Lost all my contacts (many important ones) email addresses etc. Thought I had backed it up via desktop manager, but alas, I am techo challenged and did not.
I bought my Blackberry a year ago, much the same way I bought my laptop. Really wanting an I Phone and really wanting an I Book. Pragmatism prevailed and I setteled for what I could afford vs what I wanted. Maybe my upbringing (want vs need) but I have since adjusted and when my ship anchors at port I will get what I want. But I stray from the subject.
I have insurance on my phone and was overnighted a replacement.
In the mean time my carrier graciously gave me a loaner until I can get the new BB formatted and officially switched to my phone number. The replacement: Sony Erickson Equinox. To text you gotta puncha a bunch a numerics to get to the alpha's. Haven't had to do this in years, and a total waste of time.
Now I pay a flat rate so's to enjoy all the features of my BB $120.00 monthly (so I don't have to pay any over use fee's). So I thought I might just ditch it all together, but the fact is, the longer I have this loaner, the more I miss my BB.
I guess the end result, take my bill to my carrier, find out how much I am over paying for services where a flat rate makes no sense. I miss all the apps, the most important one is the app that will read out loud incoming messages to me while I drive.
While my thumbs are too big for the querty key board, I've become adept and fairly adroit...
Any similiar experiences?
