We stopped years ago giving each other presents. Christmas is for us come together (this year 11 persons), forget all our sorrows for one evening and just be happy. We eat, meat-fondue as a basis, Italian pasta salads, baguette with garlic butter, mushrooms, baby potatoes with bacon and drink. And after that we play cards and other family games. This year we started at 17.00 and it ended at 01.00. For me this is the best gift I can imagine.
So did we... first because we're filthy rich and I really don't know what to give to Alex or the children since they already have whatever they need and so do I, my son BD was on November and he got a new laptop and Alex got an old RR Phantom this year, plus we had our wedding (best present of all). So in our direct family we stopped giving each other's present on Xmas because first this isn't the main goal of Christmas and because I don't believe in the holy birth I'm very not keen on keeping up some of the Christmas traditions if it just for the fun of being all together and forget business, investments, management and money for at least few days.
So this Christmas the only ones who got a present is my niece and Jasmine my latest daughter, my niece doesn't understand what is it for yet, but Alex, my sister and I do know that having 20k in a fiduciary account will come handy for her when she'll start higher education (if she ever does, because we didn't put any conditions beside the date when she can withdraw all that money and it's set for her 21 anniversary). My latest daughter got a cute little neckless that Alex had it made for her, she's not yet 1 years old so she doesn't give a shit (well I shouldn't say that, she gave a lot of shit, in fact that was her present to us all, stink the whole place up with her dirty little baby ass
) )
Best present of all this holiday was that we were all together, we sang, we played board games, went to restaurants all 4 days, had friends and family visiting and that was the best. No fucking presents, so no returns
