What happened?

What happened to Saint-Saens' Oratorio de Noel? I posted it here a couple days ago, got a couple thank yous, then it suddenly disappeared. It was several movements in a playlist. Are playlists forbidden? I searched for rules regarding this matter and could find none.

Vaughan Williams' Christmas Cantata "Hodie"

It is a wonder that this magnificent work came from a man who was an agnostic.

Some Chinese classical music.

No, I'm not going to give you some super talented Chinese pianist or violonist playing Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert or Bach.

This small series of posts will be classics from the Chinese tradition, played on distinctly Chinese and very ancient instruments.

Guqin.

Let's start with one of the oldest instruments with about 3000 years of history, the Guqin, one of several Chinese zither instruments.

Chinese classics 2.

Guzheng.

Another Chinese zither instrument is the Guzheng which became prominent in the Qin period of Chinese history, i.e. 221-206 BCE.

Chinese classics 4.

Erhu.

The erhu is a member of the very large instrument family called Huqin, which is the family of spike fiddles with its important role in the music of Central Asia, Mongolia, China and different parts of South East Asia.
