Sorry if i am the only one here that doesn't butter Jim up (buttering up is the cancer of this great forum), but it makes me sad to see how Jim's life seems to revolve around this forum: an average of 15.07 posts per day is a terrefic piece of information that makes me sad: has Jim social life beyond this forum? Poor boy. Reaching 10 000 posts is cause for being happy (why?) ? is it cause for showy, flamboyant congratulations as if he has got married or won a Nobel? Can be happy a man whose congrats come from that "heroic deed", a man that expends most of the day in front of a PC ?
I am not criticizing (everyone is free to do what he want), i put simply some rhetorical questions with the aim of understand why persons like the good Jim can make me feel so sad.
And..., of course, if you like, congratulations on reaching 10 000, if this makes you happier.

Interesting point Berobrix, but some of us can multi-task :p

I'm often here whilst doing other things ;)

Dear Beobrix,
I like to look at things from various angles and perspectives. Your way to measure Jim’s performance is surprising. It makes me realize that I am more narrow minded than I thought, because your point of view did not cross my mind. Thank you for widening my thoughts range. However I must say that I do not share your opinion. I think that it is a bit haughty to judge someone else’s passion. All extraordinary achievements are reached by people who worked with heart and soul. Where others can’t, they concentrate all their activities on one subject. Should we feel sorry for them? Must we feel sorry for Madame Curie, Einstein, Mick Jagger, Mother Theresa or Vincent van Gogh, who all suffered for their sanity? I would never be able to work like them. But people are different. And should we condemn the people who admire those persons for their achievements? I am inclined to say that we should give them the freedom show their admiration. But of course you are free to have your opinion on this matter. And I admire your courage to share it. It makes this forum an eye-opener. So let us be grateful for the lads who are the pillars.

I guess I cannot share Berobrix's opinion because, if you travel around the forum, you will see that Slimjim is always there to lend a helping hand to a new member who is having problems.

If someone says they are having a problem with a download, Jim is there with a suggestion. If someone likes a particular vid, Jim is there posting links to other vids of that model.

It takes a special person to care that much about other members, and the reason Jimmy has so many posts is because he is that special person.

As you can see from this thread Jimmy, almost 100% of those responding here provide positive responses for your great accomplishments on the forum and I too want to send you my congratulations!

I considered removing the negative comment as being inappropriate, but then thought I too would respond like others have. Pay no attention to the negative comment from someone who has not been here long enough to realize all the great things you have done for this forum.

Dear Voyager, if my comment is "negative" have i to leave it aside? Only non critical comments are allowed to be posted? Where are the fruitful discussions if all members are always flattering?

Your sentence "I considered removing the negative comment" sounds me like censorship temptation.

"As you can see from this thread Jimmy, almost 100% of those responding here provide positive responses": are you, Voyager, so innocent that you don't realize that in this great forum, flattery, crawling and constant bootlicking are very, very frequent things?

"Pay no attention to the negative comment from someone who has not been here long enough": Only members that have been here for a long time have rights to be taken into consideration? It's true, i've joined this forum on april 2010, and i began being active only since 3 weeks... But in those 3 weeks i have been posting without a break, sharing the best of my files out of kindness for all of the members; i have been thanked 5,000 times in 100 posts in those 3 weeks (much more than most of the "gurus" or "super vip's" members); so, I have not been here for a long time, but since i am here, i have contributed to the forum, and i think i don't deserve that you pour scorn on me or spurn me: there are members that have been here for a long time and have contributed much less than me in only three weeks. And sorry if i look arrogant: it's only acting in self-defense.

Have a nice day! :)

Absolutely not, but since this is a congratulatory thread for someone who has made far more contributions than you, I felt this was an inappropriate place to put your comment. If you wanted to start a new thread to rain on the parade of someone who has been here for a long time, has helped thousands of new members when they were having troubles, has made tremendous contributions as a mod and supermod and is one of the nicest guys who cares deeply about this forum, you are free to do that.

What I personally believe is that if you have something nice to say about someone or to someone for their contributions, then it should be said. It is very possible that the flattery you have seen on this forum is actually genuine as not all members have the same negativity as you seem to have. I think it is kind of nice that many members are here to support their fellow members, instead of tear them down. In real life, there is so much complaining from those who do nothing, it is refreshing to come on here and see a supportive society.

Only members that have been here for a long time have rights to be taken into consideration?

No, all members have the right to say what they think, but I wanted Jimmy to know that there are so many of us here that are happy for him and support him, that when it came to your comments, just to consider the source and pay no attention to it.

Gee, that sounds a lot like what Jimmy has been doing for several years. I wonder if you continue here as long as he has been here and reach the 10,000 post mark, will you also consider nice congratulatory comments made to you as "bootlicking", and how will you react if when you reach that milestone someone thinks it is sad because you must not have a life outside of the forum.

This is not a true testament since many of your links are hidden and only visible if someone clicks the "Thanks Button". Forcing members to give you thanks in this way is not a true "thank you"

And sorry if i look arrogant: it's only acting in self-defense

If you thought your actions were so right, you would not need a defense!

I hope you also have a nice day:)

I have just written in Jim's personal page what I think (http://forum.gayheaven.org/member.php?u=1808); I apologize to you and Jim for my behavior, my words and my innate behemence and sincerity. I am fond of Jim, i appreciate him, more than my words could imply. So, :butslap:

Hi Berobrix

That was very nice, sincere and obviously heartfelt what you wrote on Jimmy's page. I am sure he will appreciate it very much. I know that it take s a very good person to apologize . . . sometimes it is not easy, but that was well done!

Like myself, all of Jimmy's friends here will move on from these comments and I trust that all friendships will be as they were before and all is forgiven.

Thank you for being a caring person!

Have a wonderful weekend!:)

Mmmmm... I was a little confused as I read Berobrix's message on my profile page before I had read the recent posts here. Happily the misunderstandings have all been cleared up so, as Voyager said, we can all move on from here.:thumbs up:
