Craiglists murder

So there is this local story by me that is kind of scrary since i have had 2 craiglist hookups.... what are your thoughts?
(for those of you that are in england craigslist is a free site where people can sell things and it also has a huge sexual audience wehre people can post ads to have sex with each other. http://www.craigslist.org/about/sites )

This is really nothing new, remember "The Craigs List Cannibal" in Germany? Anytime you go for an anonymous hook-up, you take a risk, be it a guy from Craigs list or the cute guy you follow to a remote area of the park. besides this guy was meeting a 16yo kid to be choked during sex, a practice that is risky in the best of situations, but just plain fuckin' stupid with a total stranger...

This is pretty close to home since I'm actually from NYC... it's always a risk meeting people online (although I've met some very nice people in the past) and extreme precautions should be taken.

Yes, the radio DJ had some extreme sexual practices, but that shouldn't be held against him. It's a terrible crime and I was very saddened to hear about this; not only for the murdered one's family and colleagues, but for the 16 year old who has in essence, ruined his life.

My thoughts go out to both families.

Well, I've only looked at the craigslist personals before, I've never used it; it is probably much safer to go with permanent personal ads for that type of thing. But I hope to not ever use craigslist again, as it is in general a nasty way to interact with other people, whether looking for an apartment or *shudder* trying to buy/sell something.
