Dealing with .z01, .z02, etc files on a Mac?

Every time I download these files, I forget how to put them together. Filesmonster always seems to have files ending in .z01, .z02, etc, and I can't figure out how to put them together. I have tried MacHacha, Split & Concat, and Stuffit. I've renamed the .zip file to the last number in the series. I've renamed all the file extensions to .001, etc. Can't figure it out!

Any help would be great. Thanks!

As these type of files are usually with f/monster I avoid, but if I remember correctly don't you have to open the associated .zip file first and then extract from the .z01, .z02 .... files:thinking:

I did figure it out eventually, but I forgot how. Next time I'll have to write it down.

I open a Terminal.app window to concatenate via drag&drop the XYZ.z01 XYZ.02 XYZ.zip (one at a time, last one is the .zip) & redirect to a new joined zip file, then just double-click to unzip.

cat ~/XYZ.z01 ~/XYZ.02 ~/XYZ.z03 ~/XYZ.04 ~/XYZ.zip > ~/Desktop/zyx.zip
