ok firstly the tube is about the size of your little finger, the endoscopist (the person doing the exam) will spray the back of your throat with a spray that will make it go numb it will feel weird. they will then ask you to lay on your left hand side and they will place a little plastic guard in your mouth. a nurse will be sat with you near your head and they will reassure you. i have seen pleanty done and it only takes a few mins at the most. but my advice is relax and listen to the staff. let me know how it goes x

had that done twice in last year--but also had it done for 10 yrs once every two yrs but went without for a while so they wanted to do one then another in 6 months--back then they sprayed some shit back of your throat to numb then shoot you fullof stuff to sedate you--but the last two they took me in the room told me what they were going to do didnt spray my throat--gave me a shot --next thing i remembered was waking up sore throat and head hurting from the drugs they shot me up with-- so i never felt a thing

I forgot about this thread lol! I went to do the gastric thing...no sleep, no nothing...they just sprayed my throat with some solution, and injected something in my veins. They made me bite some plastic thing with a hole in the middle, they inserted the tube and I only felt like throwing up twice but I guess it was more like a foreign object feeling than vomiting...It all happened very fast...less than 5 minutes.Diagnose: active duodenal ulcer , suspect of esophagitis cause of candid bacteria and they also took some bio samples from my stomach to see the helyco bacter thing...I`ll know this Thursday what and when. Til then I still take pills and they work cause I have no more stomach pains
