I was just curious if anyone has experienced Déjà vu?

There are many forms of Déjà vu, but I was thinking along the lines of: The experience of feeling sure that one has witnessed or experienced a new situation previously (an individual feels as though an event has already happened or has happened in the near past)

It has happened to me one time, and it hit me hard, I was walking around a corner, and as I turned I noticed an old school (built in the 1800s) and it was sitting in a field (in Colorado) and I knew that I had been there before…but I never did, I was only 10yrs old at the time it happened

But I still wonder about it…lol

What do you all think, about Déjà vu?

I guess part of it is from dreams, or having imagined something to have taken place b4...

I think it's something that's often similar and we imagine it's happened before. I've had this happen to me several times in the past, was it imagination!!

Then you can go into the theory that time isn't real and we only think that time is passing as that's how we're conditioned, all things have already happened.

That's too deep for now, a conversation for late night whiskys & coffee ... ;)

You should have crossed the river to Ohio...to civilization
to my private Scottish bar for a round of
Caol Ila, Ardbeg, or Laphroaig.
No Hooch...ever!!

I've had that feeling many times. Just this week, I was driving my sons and a friend of theirs back from practice. As we started back, my oldest son asked if we could go to GameStop so he could buy a video game.

I remembered that I had somehow thought of this very same situation before right down to the names of the kids. The funny part is that at the time I originally thought of it several years ago, I didn't have the kids (much less named them) and didn't even live in the city where we do today.

Life has its oddities...

I'm mostly veggie, but will eat fish. Those squid balls look pretty tasty!!

As for Laphroaig, that's the best single malt in the world!! Laphroaig & squid balls, that would be a meal in heaven - with good conversation what a great night ;)

Think we've deviated a bit from the subject :p

i remember hearing a pretty logical explanation, albeit vague and difficult to support...

every now and then the part of my brain that perceives a thing and the part that remembers a thing fall slightly out of sync, so for a few seconds i'll actually be "remembering" what's happening right now.

considering other annoying phenomena like the ears ringing or hiccups [which still lack definite scientific explanation], i don't find it too far-fetched that the human body can do silly little things like that.

When you dream what seems to happen in a long time is actually a brief instance. I have the radio on all night and what they're saying appears in the dreams I remember.

Then I wake up - it seems like a long dream, but it isn't, it's probably quite instant.

I think the subject matter should be ammended to cover all odd happenings to discuss. We all experience these things at times.

Dont wanna be nit picky, but actually, there are scientific explanations for ears ringing and hiccups. I apologise in advance for what will probably be a long and boring explanation.

Hiccoughs (sorry, Im british!) are due to irritation of the diaphragm... can be due to nerve injury, chemicals, drugs, cancer or even something like coughing or swallowing awkwardly...

Ringing in the ear or tinnitus can again be due to loads things, most commonly nerve damage following a rock concert :D, but also infection, inflammation or tumours in the inner ear or brain, also blocked air tubes between the middle ear and pharynx...

I often have these. Sometimes i meet people i have never seen before but I know them at the same time.
Once i met this lady at a grocery store i think and I saw her and i knew i had seen her before, but i never had. I was walking and I thikn she felt it too, because she asked me if she knew me and i said no, but i have this feeling I have before.
For some reason i knew her son was sick, i asked her that. Creepy!

i can't argue with that at all; it sounds reasonable. i do still, however, need to figure out how to get rid of both of those [not to mention pin down deja vu]. suggestions would be awesome!
