I love mac computers but hate the software complications. A little birdie told me that the new macs being shipped out come with windows7 preinstalled with bootcamp..so perhaps when i 2500 to waste i might buy one. But unfortunately i don't, so ill continue to adore my sonny!

A friend went over to a Mac and loves it. He will admit though that it probably wouldn't suit me because of software implications that I need to use.

They do sound less hassle though, but I can't see me changing, apart from the fact I only bought this PC a few months ago, so it's still in good behaviour mode :p

Neither. Linux Ubuntu (9.10). Easy, configurable in the extreme, bling as much as you like, gets updated (OS & software) on a daily basis if necessary and not once a month, and free. Runs on a toaster if necessary. (That might be an exaggeration)

What's a virus again?

PC, use Windows XP.
I do dual boot with Ubuntu, but I'm just not good enough to use it much.
Should probably switch to Kubuntu, cause I'm fractionally better with KDE.
I just don't have that much free time to play around and learn it.

PC all the way! Macs are to expensive for what you get.

Anymore the hardware is the generally same in both PC and Mac.
When I bought my notebook it was $1,400, the equivalent Mac (with exact same hardware mind you) was $2,500.
That Mac OS is NOT worth 1,100. I mean they are nice, but not almost 2x the price nice...

And the fact you have to buy a 2 button mouse peaves me

I was a life-long PC user until I got my first mac 2.5 years ago. Two and a half years later, it still runs like the day I got it. I can leave it run for weeks at a time without a restart, and I can count on one hand the number of times it has locked up or crashed. I did have the graphics card die on me once, and I have to say another key difference, having dealt with technical support for PC (Dell mostly) and Apple, Apple's customer service and tech support are second to none. Since Apple makes both the operating system and the machine, you don't get issues, as I did as a PC owner, where Microsoft from the OS standpoint, and the PC manufacturer are standing there pointing fingers at each other. Sure it's more expensive–the "Apple Tax" if you will–but it's a price you pay for exceptional quality and reliability, backed by outstanding tech support and customer service.

Bought a Mac and dual-booted it 18 months ago. Thought I would move over to the superior (so I believed) OS X but it never happened, because I never found the Mac partition superior, only different. Now I've managed to dual boot with Win 7, much to the disgust of both Apple and Microsoft I'm sure, I probably never will - can't see the point because (dare I say it?) OS X looks clunky now by comparison and there's shedloads more decent software for the PC. Only remaining problem is viruses, but Firefox goes a long way to sorting that and common sense and software does the rest. A shame because I hate monopolies - I try to give Tesco a miss like many Americans avoid Wal-Mart.

And I do have a real gripe about Macs. Yes, they look fabulous, but it's sometime style over substance. Like they keep on finding ever more cunning places to hide the power button so you can't find it, often round the back where you can barely operate it either!~X(. At least they might have the decency to label it in braille!!!

I prefeer PCs. Okay I worked a few times on OS X on a virtual machine and it was okay. If you are used to work with PCs then it's like the complete opposite left is right and right is left, but actually it's okay. Now there are also some games for that like all them on Steam. But that's another story. For now I just need something with Internet access, so for me I actually don't care. I can also only use my iPhone and sell the PC.

Hi I use to have a PC before and i liked it now i prefer Macs because they have the top of the range hardware and they are free from viruses and they have more security than PC'S plus i do miss PC's but the best thing about Mac'S are you can put Windows PC OS on this Mac'S Now:)
