Do you regard yourself as shy?

Why should Gabrios have all the fun of starting new probing conversations :p

Would you say you are shy. Is your personality different on here (for example) than it is in the non-cyber world? Do you worry about what others might think of you?

Do you find it easier to communicate with strangers on a forum than in person?

So many questions :p Hopefully a good discussion subject though.

Be brave ;)

You might say I'm shy, at least in social situations, like at a club, I'll usually find a quite table in the corner unless I'm with friends. I usually won't approch anybody, and because I look a little intimidating, most people wont approch me:( But when I'm with my friends that know how I am, many times they will break the ice for me;)I'm very str8 acting and most of my friends are str8, but sometimes when were out in public I will camp it up just to embarrass them:))

And yes, I'm just as abrasive in person as I am online:p

I'm no different in person either. I hate false images and if by chance someone meets another they've been in contact with - then what do you do if you're not really that person?? :p

It's easier for some to expand online admittedly, but why not carry that over into other things.

I was quite shy as a kid, but it all changed and went downhill after I hit my late teens :p

It's strange though, I always think of myself as shy, I know I'm not, but I am in a way - we all are - but nobody ever believes I could be. I'm not an extrovert, don't confuse the two things, blatent extroverts just have verbal dioreah (and that's the worst word in the world to spell so please correct it LOL )

I'm not shy in the outside world, enjoy talking to people whether I know them or not.

When I was younger I used to be really happy, bouncing off the walls sort of kid, it hasn't really changed that much as I've grown up. I just strive to interest myself and others, it's something that comes naturally to me.

That's me! I think confidence comes with knowledge about all sorts of things & having a passion about a subject or subjects you can instill into others - plus the ability to always know when to shut up and listen (& perhaps learn) ;)

When I was a kid I was not shy at all which doesn't mean I was a loud extroverted kid without any manners. I was just very open for everything and wasn't afraid of other people, animals, situations etc.

Unfortunatelly that changed the older I got.

I don't trust other people that easily and need much more time than others to open up for new people I meet.

I'm sure some of my friends wouldn't say that about me because normally I can easily chat with people I didn't know but that's only the outside. There is always a feeling of insecurity in me which makes it sometimes hard for me to keep on talking, overcome the feeling of shyness and not running away. :worried:

I think the biggest fear of people is the worry about what others think of them.

I never worry, and once I realised that most couldn't care less, and yesterday is history & forgotten, I became this arrogant , opinionated creature I am now :p

thank goodness X, i was wondering if i was the only one wanting to play anymore:)

as to being shy, that all depends, I'm a salesman, so its easy for me to converse with anyone about almost anything, it's my job, and iv been doing it since i was 15. so in that sense in not shy at all:)

but...once the day is over i crawl into my personal cave and let few ppl in to see it, and don't want to be bothered till the next time i go out:p

and in a crowded place, i sit at the back and don't say much, so yes I'm shy there:)

but all in all I'm just like i am here, very much in your face and not afraid to say and ask anything;) lol

I am shy... in different situations... Like, when I walk in the streets, i often feel like people look at me in a weird way...something like: "uh, this guy is so ugly" ..lol i know it sounds weird but it`s true...cause I was kinda ugly when I was a teen... i am not considering myself ugly now but some...scars from my teen period stayed there and wouldn`t go away. When i`m in a store for example talking to the cashier or with the people working there, iam not shy at all... or when I go to the postoffice or at the bank ...niente. no shyness... dunno why. And when i meet new people i take more than enough time to "read" them until i can integrate... (and I`m kinda good at "reading" people) Just like a member here said: i do integrate but takes some time until i can start trusting those persons....so ..I`m half shy:)

Absolutely...there are times that I can be pretty shy..then there are times when I can be the life of the party...

I'm shy mentally, but I think I've managed to show on the outside that I'm not. I tend to come across as not having ANY shame and being REALLY open. I guess I'm both of those things but more subdued normally.

Yes - often - in company I don't know. Though I often chose to hide it behind a brash bravado.
