In many ways life in Ireland is as great as it ever was - the people are still friendly and kind, and the landscape is as beautiful as it ever was. However, life is hard at the moment here - we had a bigger boom than most, and we're now having an equally bigger bust than most. This country is in big trouble, and while much of the rest of the Europe is clawing it's way out of recession, we're not.
Also - it seems like our government is doing a slow-motion collapse. Week after week there are new revelations about things our prime minister did wrong, like having golf with bankers just before the bailout and bank guarantee that collapsed our economy, each time everyone thinks 'this is it, the government HAS to fall now', and each time they hang on just that little bit longer. Apparently an election will be called in March - but I'm not holding my breadth. The current lot have an approval rating of 14%, so once they call an election they will be OUT - they're gonna hold on to the last second they can if you ask me - and possibly take the country down with them
