Correct! i'm 1/2 chinese, 1/4 indonesian, and 1/4 dutch... i do live in the Netherlands, going in to my 5th year now. I can speak and read Dutch to a reasonable level but my writing is basically crap:p

So the last thing i heard was that you guys are still waiting for a goverment
how long have they been at it

Oh man have I ever lost count of how long it's been this time. Seems like forever since I voted - not even sure I remember who I DID vote for!

BTW - although I am Belgian, I actually live in Ireland, and have done for a long time, but my family is still in Belgium, and I still speak and read Nederlands perfectly - I'm just not so hot at writing it!

So how is live in Ireland

In many ways life in Ireland is as great as it ever was - the people are still friendly and kind, and the landscape is as beautiful as it ever was. However, life is hard at the moment here - we had a bigger boom than most, and we're now having an equally bigger bust than most. This country is in big trouble, and while much of the rest of the Europe is clawing it's way out of recession, we're not.

Also - it seems like our government is doing a slow-motion collapse. Week after week there are new revelations about things our prime minister did wrong, like having golf with bankers just before the bailout and bank guarantee that collapsed our economy, each time everyone thinks 'this is it, the government HAS to fall now', and each time they hang on just that little bit longer. Apparently an election will be called in March - but I'm not holding my breadth. The current lot have an approval rating of 14%, so once they call an election they will be OUT - they're gonna hold on to the last second they can if you ask me - and possibly take the country down with them :(

At the moment we have a stupid prime minister and lots of stupid ministers, they think like Vatican's priests so they don't like gays, and they approve laws that don't defend gay's rights

I have a gay Irish colleague in my office and he told me that there is no equivalent for the word "gay" in gaeilge (irish language). And he continued with all the hard times he faced in Ireland simply because he's gay living in "macho" culture.

In dutch, being gay means you are 'homo'. I find it quite weird because homo simply means man, a human being, in Latin.

Talking about word play eh? :)
