Euro-elections

As we have a fairly international membership here I was just wondering what you felt about the European elections this week and what you feel about the EU as a whole.

Obviously this is mainly aimed at Europeans, but any comments from further afield will be interesting and welcome.

If you're in Europe, did you vote this week?

I voted too. I think everyone should take the trouble to vote.

I voted for a more democratic Europe

I'd like to vote for a more democratic UK - we have a useless prime minister - who was unelected, not only by his pathetic party, but by the country!

We live in a "democracy" where an unelected leader of the country (& unelected leader of his own party) has the power to take us into war!!

I want this man gone , I want this system changed,

What might happen -my prediction, another elected dictatorship!! We do not need that again!!

It's for MEPs - Members of the European Parliament.

A lot of our laws are now decided for us by the European Parliament. Sadly we can't vote for members of the unelected European Commision, who seem to be the ones deciding all these things! This is then debated by the MEPs, whether they can actually ammend anything is another question!

This is democracy, Euro style!

You can't name it "One Europe".
There are approximately 50 countries in Europe (as a continent) and only 27 of them are members of the European Union (EU). Even more, few EU's members (United Kingdom, Denmark, Sweden...) are not members of the Economic and Monetary Union of the European Union.

Anyway, the colour of the notes is hardly the issue - but that's a loooong debate .......

well, so here's the thing: you have to have a supreme court, someone to oversee everything

but also...all must paticipate!! if england wont get in line, than we all loose
