Well lets's see..
Currently I have in Spitfire, Bishop's Finger, Marston's Pedigree and Hobgoblin, so they must be favourites. Actually they were really cheap from Lidl during the World Cup so I bought a huge supply.
Then there's Old Speckled Hen and London Pride, or any one of literally hundreds of British real ales (plus a few from elsewhere including the USA I've managed to sample). But as for an average British lager or keg beer, the likes of Amstel and Heineken and every American Coors/Bud/Miller type beer I've ever tried - bleagh! Same goes for the Australian beers they sell in the UK. I believe you have to go to Australia for the decent stuff - not a bad idea really now I come to think of it!
With an Indian meal it has to be Cobra, with a Chinese Tsing Ha, and Tiger for Thai. Outside of oriental meals, however, the same comments apply to these as to most other lagers.
When I'm in a rare lighter mood and actually want a lager beer instead of an ale, I like Czech beers like Budweiser Budvar, or just about anything German. Both German and Belgian Wheat Beers are nice too.
Actually anything Belgian is divine - I like Morte Subite if only for its name (Sudden Death!!
), and a few northern French beers like Jupiler are in the same league.
So like many other people I don't have an absolute favourite. I suppose it's generally the one I happen to be drinking.:thumbs up:
