Fileserve question

I don't get it. Fileserve requires a username and password to get to the file. Why are people still posting to Fileserve when they don't post the associated U/P at the same time? Is there some hack or back door that I'm too stupid to figure out?

For the first time today (April 1) in the US, I got the dreaded Filesonic message on Fileserve, "You must be the poster to download this file," or some such wording.

True, or just April Fools? Enquiring minds want to know...

Because of this change in policy for Fileserve and since files are only downloadable for the original uploader, Fileserve has now been added to the list of banned hosts at GH

Omg, is every file host shutting down?? I hope this isn't the end of sharing. Is there a loophole or new way of sharing out there?
