For our friends in Samoa.
As you all probably know is Samoa discovered by the Dutchman Jacob Roggeveen in 1722.
Because of the position, just eastern of the International Time Zone, Samoa had always as the last country in the world the feast of New Year. Economics are important, especially in times of crisis, so Samoa decided to switch from the Eastern Time zone to the Western Time zone, so their calendar matches now with New Zealand and Australia. This year has for their people only 364 days. They went to bed at December 29th and the next morning it was December 31st. Their New Year experience will now be three hours before Sydney.
