Well I have only just started reading the 1st book - 251 pages in (so only around 4750 pages to go to the end of the last book !!!) so I don't want to watch the TV series.. not just because I haven't finished reading the books but also because the utterly wooden Sean Bean stars... surely the worst actor on the planet - he has as much acting skill and screen charisma as a sack of potatoes.:angry::angry::no:X_X

Really looking forward to this new series.
I'm currently on book 3. I Watched the first series before reading the books, but when I did read the first book it struck me how perfectly they had transferred it to the screen. Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister was especially brilliant.

i watched the 1st season and then i had to buy the books i just wanted to read the 1st book and i had a lovely surprise in 90% of it its like in the tv show which is great so now im like at page 520 or so of book2 400 pages left to finish until 1st of april can't wait for season 2 actually
then ill read the rest of the books already bought them their all lined up nicely looks soo great on my bookshelf heheheh
by the way which is your favorite character so far from Game of Thrones

I think it has been carried from the book to the screen very well, with only a few little additions. I have all the books now in hardback and on my Kindle. I actually bought the latest book as I had the rest already, but it was too heavy to read after reading from a Kindle lol so I bought it on Kindle as well.
Favourite character has to be Jon Snow.

I agree with the casting as well. I don't have any problem with any of the actors because I think each is how I exactly imagined.
Btw the bath scene with Renly and Loras wasn't what I expected, I mean I didn't read that with the books but I'm glad the producers are actually exploring that storyline. I don't know but knights having steamy gay sex is hot for me :blushing:

No that was one of the parts that was not in the book, great addition though
