Well Alex, better an emotional wuss than a hard-hearted, cold asshole. I've met far too many guys over the years who had the view that a "man" never showed emotion. Given the unusual cirstances of your new child's conception, I suggest that you save what has been said on this thread and write down all the emotions that everyone has been going through. Keep those doents a secret until the time is right. I promise that it's something your child will want to read when he/she is old enough, and it will be a big step toward your bonding as mutual adults, after the parent/child relationship more or less run its course.

Although I am debating whether I should write a book first and then turn it into a movie, Alex believes that I should write the book first so I can develop more and I believe he's right. What you guys think?

I'm with Alex on this one, I think writing a book will help you get to tie all the wonderful anecdotes into a captivating narrative better than anything else can. You don't have to publish the book for it to be worth doing, I think value here will be in the journey more than the destination.

This was pretty interesting to read I've been thinking about being a biological mother for few years. I'd prefer a situation where a gay couple would like to have two kids, one from both so that they are all related in some way, plus the option of having a third if I suddenly started to feel so maternal that I'd want to raise one.

You are right it is a huge responsibility and nobody should have children if they're not ready to take on this huge responsibility, but in the long run I can tell you that I love my status of being a dad. For myself and my families I have accomplished my work as a son and I am now free to do pretty much what I want.
