There is a fine line between preference and bashing in my opinion. When someone says they're attracted to masculinity, I don't view that as bashing. When someone says it's wrong to be feminine or to even embrace your femininity, that's bashing. Hypermasculinity is a serious problem but I'm not sure it's the main catalyst behind most GFP scenes. I also don't believe the goal is to designate heterosexual masculine men as the prime example for men in general. There's a studio (I'm not saying the name because it'll bring too much attention) that features men who have never had sexual experiences with other men and the main goal of the site is to show the naturalness and sometimes awkwardness of a man experimenting for the first time with another man. Yes it's borderline unethical but some people are turned on by that and it has nothing to do with how they view heterosexuality, masculinity or heteronormativity. I think hypermasculinity has no place in our society though because it causes too many problems when men think they have to "prove themselves." While there may be studios who promote the negativity, not all.

For me, the gay for pay thing is just hog-wash and seems to me a reason for so called straight guys/bi-sexual guys to justify it by claiming it to be for financial reasons or their bi-sexuality. If they are only straight, go do straight porn! I am a gay man. Could I do straight porn?...physically, probably (If there were enough cute naked men in the room, dark lighting, and a splint to keep my dick up) but I don't want to because I am gay and have no sexual interest in women

The point I am trying to make (and not very successfully, reading this back) is there must be some sexual interest in men other than for financial reasons, for these gay for pay actors to have sex with men.

And as for whether it makes a difference to me whether the actor is gay for pay or just gay, I couldn't care less. If the scene is believable, hot and my dick is hard..... it works for me!..lol

This is kind of how I feel about it. However, it is a fact that some do gay porn because it pays more than straight porn. In straight porn, the women are often paid more.

It's certainly possible that many of the so called gay for pay actors are actually gay but most of the time it's probably wishful thinking from our (gay people) part. Money does a lot.

Exactly, money is usually what brings them to gay porn.

What pisses me off is the ones who sign up to do it and then when family/friends find out, they turn into murderers. Not going to use names but it's happened recently to two different producers and that's not right. If you're grown up enough to sign a contract for some quick money, you should be grown up enough to deal with the consequences. While it's true some studios manipulate some young men, not all do that and even if they did it should be settled a different way. Can't believe guys are really snapping and murdering porn producers because they have to "prove themselves" and appear hypermasculine in front of friends and family smh.

This is how I feel about gay for pay. I just can't buy into it. Supposedly 100% straight guys have no price when it comes to doing something that is not in them or they haven't been a little curious about. I will stand by this for a minute, gay for pay men are just using that to quiet the guilt they have for doing something they want to do, but can't freely.

I too believe there is most likely some level of attraction (could be very small) already there or at least an attraction to oneself and the physical qualities of oneself that can be recognized on another person.

When we say the words like 'truth' & 'reality', we actually mean objective truth. All the truths around us and what we believe in are finite truths. My truth can be different than yours and yours may be different from someone else's. But all the truths are true to the person who believe in it. It's not the question of acceptance, but it's definitely the question of respect. What I believe in is a very simple policy of mutual respect. I don't have to accept your truth or your views but I will definitely respect yours and preferably I would like to have the same treatment from you.
Leaving the philosophical part aside, what I can say is that some people love the idea of straight men being fucked by a gay man or a gay man being fucked by a straight man. It's not actually about the perfect definition of manliness or anything about which kind of manliness is superior. It's about fantasy. Porn is fantasy. Now people may say that if fantasy is real or not. The answer to this question is not a very simple one. It's rather complex in nature. Fantasy is actually extremely elusive in nature. Sometimes it is not true and sometimes it is true and there are times when it can't be categorized into simple divisions of true or false.
Now comes the part of money. Porn generates a huge amount of money. World over porn generates more money than the main stream movie industry. So most of the people who work in porn, do it for the money part. Creating a myth (again objective truth) is the most essential part of porn industry.
The only part I care about is the chemistry between the two or three or more performers. If the scene is fine (obviously according to me) then I am fine with it. Why the hell should I bother myself if the actors are straight or bi or gay or none of those! As long as I get entertained and sexually aroused by the performance, I am happy. I don't bother myself with those trivial information (at least to me) about the porn performers' personal lives or their sexual orientation. At the end of the day they are mere actors and none of them are going to be my boy-friend or life-partner:p;):thumbs up:

I think the gay for pay theme is pretty good if its actual gay for pay--I think once a guy has been paid few times to be gay and makes a career out of it then he isn't straight anymore more likely bisexual....

I define gay and straight by who you choose to be in a relationship with. So if a guy has no desire to be in a relationship with another man, then he's straight. But that doesn't mean he can't still enjoy sex with another man. He just can't date him...
