Gay Themed Books?

Does anyone know of any gay themed books? I would really like to find a good book to start reading. Maybe something dealing with romance since I'm kind of a romantic at heart, but nothing too cheesy.

Any recommendations?

A better place by Mark A. Roeder Is a really nice book to read or any of his other books in the gay youth chronicles. Mark also has a list of good gay books on his website

I really love 'Rainbow Boys' by Alex Sanchez. It's the first book in a trilogy including "Rainbow High" and "Rainbow Road"

"Rockstarlet" by Stewart Lewis is also a great book.

I was also going to recommend the "Rainbow" trilogy, but you said more of a romantic feel. While that's true for the first book, "Rainbow Boys"; the other two parts don't really fit that terrain.

Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin is an older one, published in 1956. It's pretty dark though, not really a romance.

The Line Of Beauty by Alan Hollinghurst.

Won the Booker Prize and possibly among of the most beautiful prose I have ever read (and I read a DAMN lot!)

The only other person whose language I think is even more sublime is Salman Rushdie... but his books arent gay themed...

The last good gay themed book I read Was Stephen McCauley's Insignificant Others. Great book about navigating gay relationships. A character's dealing with his gayness and trying to live responsibly as a married man with childern is very well protrayed and extremely honest. Read all of McCauley's works, well more formed and mature from the usual gay drivel.

does anyone know of any sci-fi/fantasy books that are gay themed or at least a gay character? And I mean like quality books that you'd find at a Barnes & Noble and other bookstores, not self published online works.

Hero by Perry Moore. It's a superhero book and the main character is gay.

Island Song by Alan Chin and Hero by Perry Moore. These two books are quite amazing and I highly recommend them.
