Does anyone look good after plastic surgery?Just seen Barry Manilow and he looks very strange.Who do you guys think are better or worse for the treatment. It shows at least that money does not buy perfection.I don't think I will bother even with a big lottery win.

Yes & No, sometimes it can go horribly wrong..there are some celebrities/people who use to look very attractive before they got plastic surgery. Now they just look terrible (hate to say it, but true). I used to want surgery on my nose (too wide). But alot of people say I look fine with it...but you are right about the money can't buy perfection. I don't think anyone looks good with plastic surgery...you are basically having something fake put onto your face.

There's the famous "plastic surgery gone wrong" slideshows. It certainly can go wrong with a hack doctor. And it's amazing how some rich, famous people end up with hacks.

But then there's the others. You don't know they had work, because they look natural.
Natural, but without the double chins, and saggy eyelids, and bumpy skin. With a skilled doctor, you look like yourself, but younger and better.
It's not for everyone, but it would be for me...if I only had $$$. Anyone want to donate $$$ to a good cause?

So if the operation was a success and you came back a teeny bit better looking and a great deal poorer, you would still know that the new you was not the real you but something fake, as fake as a toupe, as fake as a cod piece.
I would never feel comfortable with that, even if I could afford to waste the price of a car on it. Far better to be happy with what youve got than worry about something you dont need.

It's where you land on a continuum.
Is it fake to wear contacts and real to wear glasses?
Is it fake to do crunches at the gym so your chest is bigger than your belly? (If it is, I'm guilty).
Is it fake to get a laser face peel, and have skin as smooth as a teenager?

Gay men have always put their best face forward. I never did a cod piece, but it might be fun.

I do understand the fake thing. I had a friend in high school. Good looking enough, with a very large nose. He came to school to start his senior year, and his nose was little. Cute and little! Like a Ken doll. He just didn't look like my friend. And I always wondered. Did he ever have a son... with a big honking nose? What did he tell the boy, with the family nose?

If I lend you the one million dollars for the quack to make you look 21 again, in order to be convincing you must also act 21 again. That means non stop parties all weekend and sex five times a night. Who would want that?

Well...that's a dilemma. You got me. I have no desire to be 21 again. It was great fun then...but I have no desire to repeat those crazy times.

But that's theoretical. I'm 60. No amount of money will make me 21 again.
But it's very possible that $50,000 would take a decade off my look. I would still look like me. Just more like the me I remember.
I don't think it's fake or shallow to do that. I think it's squeezing a bit more out of your life.

Still theoretical. I don't have 50 k to blow. I look 50 and fit. I'll do the crunches at the gym and polish my look as best I can.

I assume you are asking about males that have had work done with decent results, because the list of women that have had good work is endless...

Steve Martin, Michael Douglas, and Clint Eastwood have all had face-lifts...

Ryan Gosling has had work...

Brad Pitt is suspected of having multiple procedures including his ears tucked, eye lift, nose job, and dermal fill...

Ashton Kutcher had a nose job...

And even "Mr. Perfect" himself Zack Efron, had his nose done...

If you have little changes done, and it's not greatly noticeable, then I think surgery works. When it's really obvious you've had work done, you've done it the wrong way haha.

Exactly, and there in lies the difference between most men and women.

Women tend to take the preventive maintenance route, they start young and continue with small procedures over time.

Men on the other hand, often put it off for a long time and then try to do a complete overhaul with disastrous results...

I don't usually advocate plastic surgery, unless it's for reconstruction after some kind of accident. Or if you were born with some deformity that gave you really poor self-esteem. But if you look relatively normal (and most actors in Hollywood have better than average looks) I don't see why it's necessary. They really just do it because they are insecure. But hey, it's their money and they can do with it what they like.
