I guess the Christian Orthodox churches still use the Julian calender (the calendar commissioned by none less than Julius Caesar) while the other parts of the Christian world uses the Gregorian calender commissioned by pope Gregory XIII in 1582.
But protestant countries like my native Sweden thought for a very long time that the new calender was some kind of "popish trap", and refused to use the new calender and continued with the old Julian style.
So Sweden introduced the new calendar in 1753, which Great Britain had 1752 and Denmark+the protestant regions of the Netherlands and Germany in 1700.
