Anyone can't stand the portrayal of gays on Glee? I don't like how they make the gay characters to be martyr, and they use every chance to preach to people instead of focusing on the storyline. The gay agenda is just so in-your-face. I personally like shows where the gay characters being treated like normal everyday people. I guess something akin to Hulkling/Wiccan on Young Avengers, Max on Happy Endings, or even the gay guy in Smash. I may be the only gay person who can't stand Glee. Sorry if I offend anyone who's a fan of the show. I'm trying not to.

Glee was great in its first season. The second season was only half as good IMO. The third season about a third as good as the first. But I understand they're bringing on Matt Bomer to play Blaine's brother, so I wouldn't miss him.

Always hated Glee, since the second episode (the pilot was great), though not only for the gay storyline but for everything, it must be one of the worst-written hit shows on TV when it comes to things like continuity or characters.
We already have a thread where we talk about gay characters on TV, by the way, you can find it on the first page of this forum right now, and I remember there was also a Glee-hate-thread, somewhere in the Celebrity-forum maybe?
Anyway, yo can find more thoughts about it in those threads and in my blog post here.

Well ofcourse it's always a matter of taste and why should I talk it down just because I don't like it, but.... I so hate it:p The writing, acting, even the directing.:)

Well here's my opinion and others as well:

http://www.gayheaven.org/showthread.php?t=151350

Not only is their writing putrid but they also steal ideas from other shows. They actually stole I Believe I can Fly/Fly mash-up from a group singing contest called "The Sing-off".

Btw I generally like gay characters on TV but every character on Glee is so overwrought its making me puke

I would never watch it by choice, but I've been unfortunate enough to see bits of various episodes and I think it's horrible. The word "lame" was invented for stuff like this. If a high school drama group performed in this manner at a drama competition, they would get a long lecture from the adjudicator along the lines of "nice try, boys and girls, and very nice posture, but the cast need to work a lot more on acting like real characters rather than mannequin-like stereotypes. The sudden bursting into song is very dated in style, it was probably acceptable around the time The Wizard of Oz was made, but audiences these days expect something a little less cheesy."

As for the plot on the episodes I saw, I have no idea whether it was good or bad, I can't watch something like that for long enough to take in anything about the storyline.

The writing is not great, the characters & situations get sillier all the time, & basically I agree with most of the criticisms here.

But I do love those production numbers! Sorry to everyone else here, but I watch it every week, just for that reason. The singing & dancing are great, & I love the choreography; the camera work leaves a little to be desired. Harry Shum Jr is the most fantastic dancer I've ever seen, but sadly they show far too little of him.

This season I'm only checking out every appearance of Harry Shum Jr, Grant Gustin, and then some of the songs... As far as the plot is concerned, I don't care that much, and I can't stand Finn, Rachel, Kurt and Blaine...

I find the lack of talent on the show to be appalling. We seem to have a preponderance of shrieky girls who think singing is all about wailing in vibrato.

Its got the same problem as all of Ryan Murphy's show:

It stops being about the show and about the issue-du-jour.

Like Popular, its like they forget about character development. Character relationships make NO SENSE, and i dont mean just romantically. The story is unsubstantial, and everything its just an excuse to have guest stars and fit their song choices.

Its like ALL their episodes are "a very special episode" from Different Strokes and are completely unrelated to one-another.

It bugs me to no end when a show gets made up as they go. I want a planned outcome! I wanna feel like everything matters... like they wont forget what happened last week.
