When I was a kid I slept in the attic and strange noises started to occur. One day I was playing in my room a it was like a I was punched in the face and I had the image of a bearded man in my vision which slowly faded away. It was so vivid. It was like a camera flash had gone off and you get your eyes go funny for a while until they adjust again.

One night I was sleeping under the covers and I woke up, I felt a real sense some evil in the atmosphere was watching me. I was terrified and almost shaking. I closed my eyes and pretended to sleep and then did fall asleep.

A few nights later it happened again but this time I had sleep paralysis. That was the most terrifying experience. I tried to yell or scream for my parents but I was totally paralysed yet fully awake. It was pitch black but I could sense something in the room. After that I remember asking my mother for a copy of the bible and she lit a candle in my room and I felt safe especially with the light.

The next few nights were fine. Then one night, it happened again, I was laying on my bed asleep, frozen and then my eyes suddenly opened. I noticed the candle had suddenly gone off of its own accord and I was paralysed again. I sensed this evil in the room again.

This time however I didn't feel any fear, in fact I felt rage against this thing, I had this overwhelming anger that I wasn't going to go through this again, I was still paralysed. I wanted to scream at this entity but my mouth and body were frozen, suddenly I managed to regain some control over my body and I fought the paralysis, my fist clenched, my mouth began to open and suddenly I regained full control. I yelled at this entity, I can't remember exactly what I said but it was like, 'you will not overpower me!' or something, then suddenly I had full control of my body, I got up and I just yelled out at it. I was so furious and angry at it. It seemed to disappear. I carried on yelling at it, 'come on then!' trying to challenge it. *That was that, I went back to bed and fell asleep.*

I had a few weeks of perfect uninterrupted sleep. About a month or two later, again I woke up under my sheets and got a sense of an evil presence in the room again. I didn't have any paralysis this time and my anger came back. I just whipped the sheet off the bed and sat straight up gazing ahead at this evil shadow on the wall, i just looked straight ahead 'so you're back are you? How dare you come back!' I remember saying, 'get out! Don't you ever come back! This is my room!'. That was it. Whatever it was never came back, I never ever had sleep paralysis ever again, never had any sense of any evil around me ever again.

Those events felt so real, even though Im not normally a believer in the paranormal. I've never had a bad experience since then.

Do you have any paranormal or ghost experiences?

Since you've brought this topic up, now I feel good enough to bring up something that I experienced last month. I had mentioned in one of my previous posts that my mom and many other members of my immediate family abandoned me due to my sexuality for many years. My mom passed away right around the Christmas holidays last year. One day last month, my sister had called me and we got into a discussion about my mother. Since my mom died, my sister would talk to me a lot about her memories of my mom and I would keep my opinions to myself.

However, what prompted me to say something this time was when my sister revealed to me how my mom had life insurance policies for our other siblings and how she went through several obstacles while she was alive in order to make sure that certain siblings were taken care of or provided for in some sort of manner. After mentioning this information, my sister went on to tell me that my mom had cashed in the policy that she had on me a while back. To be honest, this did bother me to some degree because I know for a fact that the siblings that she continuously looked out for had treated her horribly while she was alive. And yet, no matter how bad they treated her, she would get mad but eventually she would be there for them in their time of need. What I found weird is that while expressing how I felt about this as well as how I never understood why she disliked me so much as much as I had worked at trying to obtain a relationship with her. All of a sudden, a picture that I have hanging on my bedroom wall since I've been here at this residence had fell off that wall and felt rather harshly in the floor. This really stunned me because I also felt a spirit in the room also.

No. I don't think I've ever had a proper paranormal experience myself. I've had several premonitory dreams that have indeed come true and so forth, but such events probably have a more mundane explanation. My mother, on the other hand, she's had quite a number of encounters with shadowy figures and otherwordly entities. Or so she claims.

AleXXX, I have to congratulate you. You come up with the most entertaining and original topics. Thanks, handsome. *hugs*

I've been REALLY creaped out a few times. But I don't think that had anything to do with the outside world, that was to do with what was going on in my head.

Our minds play tricks on us all the time, and sometimes those tricks turns simple ordinary things into the extraordinary.

OMG. I've had so many paranormal experiences(too many to tell, so I'll tell a few)... When i was a kid we used to live in a house on the south side of town and there used to be a lot of gang violence and murders there. one day i went to use the restroom and as i was drying my hands on the towel behind the door a pale little girl with a long, flowy white dress and long black hair appeared there. i screamed for my mom and she came in but the entity disappeared. i told but she said there was not girl, and that i was probably making it up and blah, blah, blah.

well anyway 10 years later, I'm 18 now, i was cleaning up my baby brother and sister's room and i finish and I'm about to come out when my mom is trying to tell me something from way across the living room when i something pushes me with so much force i stumble forward. the reasons why i was so scared is because 1. it wasnt the door closing on me because you need to apply force to close that door, and 2. right when i felt something push me my back got all tingly and numb and it did get cold. i tried telling my mom and she thinks I'm crazy lol.

No, never and I have no idea how to think about it. Especially because my grand-mother had paranormal abilities. She has repeatedly traced missing people. She felt that gift as a burden.

No and I don't believe in paranormal or anything of that sort. Your brain is itself a very advanced technology that neurologists have only few percentage of its capacity in 200 years of research. What you call paranormal is to me all coming from your brain; ghost, god, paranormal events etc. There is so much that goes in your brain that we don't know yet, so to me paranormal is just a patch to explain things that yet need to be discovered. I don't believe in ghost. spirits, god and any other mystical phenomenons because I do know that brains is capable of showing you pronominal dreams about possible events, but yet you're the master of your own destiny. You can go look for as much psychic you want, nobody to this time have been able to read people's minds. Until that happens without the use of normal psychological methods (and I have degree in behavioral psychology) I will never believe in paranormal. I believe that brains plays tricks on you the same way that a magician plays tricks.

Well don't know about paranormal, but wierd. My friends house you can hear steps coming up the stairs somenights, but when it happens, it happens at three o-clock night. Stairs are simple: there are only the sideboards in which the steps are attached, so you can see threw them. We have these sounds on record, video camera, we heard them ourselves and can't explain it. Theres no pipes, temperature changes that could make the wood a live. Just can't explain it. I suggested him that we would try to use ouija board for contact, but he freaked:D Don't think it would work, but I could mess with him>:)

The weird thing is, all this paranormal jumbo jumbo just doesn't fit in with my world view. I'm very scientifically minded. Having said that I've have numerous experiences which just leave me bewildered. For example. I disowned my step father a long time ago. He had been an alcoholic for 20yrs and destroyed my family and poisoned everyone against me. I have to say i barely remember him being sober or able put together a coherent sentence. I hated him for that and I hated my family for creating a 'support system' for him.

I never think about any of them. One night a few years ago I had a dream. He and I were talking and we were good friends. In your dreams you have a reality distortion field and you act in ways you wouldn't normally. I don't think I've ever had a proper conversation with him in my life. So here we were having a wonderfully energetic, spirited conversation like we were best buddies, I remember saying dad, I can't keep up with your wit and conversation! It was bizarre. He was animated, full of energy, humour, warmth, like a top talk show host. When I woke up it obvious it was a dream. I hadn't seen him or my family for close to 10 years. Later that day I found out that had been in intensive care for the last few weeks as his liver had failed from drinking and that he had died that day.

In some ways it seems like a very strange co-incidence and I have to say, i was glad that his whole life which had been one long torture for him and everyone who knew him was over. In an instant, my hate for him just evaporated. I'm not saying I 'love' him, it's just the hate disappeared and I felt relief for him and relief from any bitterness I had. Now I feel a kinda nothingness, neither happiness nor sadness. He didn't deserve my love but I don't deserve to live with any hate. In the absence of love or hate, you get this slightly detached feeling, like when you hear in the news about something sad happened to someone you didn't know. You feel sad and sorry for those people and then you just get on with your life and forget about them.

Scientifically it was just mere co-incidence but when you factor everything in it would make more sense to say it was spiritual. I can't rationalise that. It doesn't bug me. All you can do is observe and can say something very strange happened that we have no explanation for.

I've had a few experiences, but never where I've seen a fully-formed manifestation. Thankfully. Most of mine have been of the sensation/feeling/vibe, deja-vu and precognition sort. I have had a few where I've heard a voice -- some of those were good/comforting types but some were very opposite. I've been in several places where it's like I can see something else overlaid against what's going on, like a transparency or faint movie; again some of those were just interesting and some would make me leave or even refuse to go into a space.

I've heard stories from some other family members that my matrilineal great-grandmother would get feelings or know when something was going to happen.

No, for God sake. When I got a sleep paralysis, I used to believe that something is holding me or so, but after I found out the real cause, it doesn't have anything to do with demonic things. Although, I do believe that demon exist. Not a ghost from someone who died, cause their soul goes to the limbo. But demon who manifest to person who died, using their memories and physical appearance to confusing people. To be more afraid to them than God. That is one of his trick to bring human soul to Hell.

It's weird I wouldn't normally believe in demons, because I can't rationalise the concept but I have experienced somethings that that felt totally different from dreams. I've kinda 'woke up' in dreams where I've realised I'm dreaming, and you can have fun in that before you wake up. However I've had experiences that felt real in my gut. Like evil, darkness, a malevolent presence two or three times in my life as a kid. Even at that moment, I go through a thought process trying rationalise this feeling, but like I said in my gut this thing felt real. To put that into perspective 99% of the time I've realised I was dreaming or hallucinating or there was some rational explanation and im quite dismissive of these paranormal ideas in general but in the very very odd instance something I've experienced felt very real.

Now de ja vu as someone else mentioned is something I've experienced a great deal of. In fact I've had it so many times that it doesn't even spook me any longer. I feel im going through an exact experience that I feel has been replayed to me before. The thing I've never ever considered it to be paranormal or even psychic. In fact I remember watching an episode of Star Trek the Next Generation as a kid where there was some space-time anomaly that made them replay the same even over and over again. In my mind if I were to look for an explanation for this de ja vu it's more likely to look at it from a scientific position.

Normally an event takes place and you create a memory. In this case you experience a memory of an event before the event occurs. Its like the memory has travelled back in time so youve experienced the Memory of the event before its taken place.

Both sleep paralysis & deja vu are common experiences that are fully explainable without resorting to paranormal experiences; everything else I read above is just coincidence coupled with the natural human tendency to mentally create order out of chaos (Virgin Mary toast & Jesus clouds, etc).

I've never found anything that would cause me to believe in the existence of anything outside the ordinary physical universe. Not God, spirits, or paranormality; and the fact that something hasn't been explained (yet) doesn't mean that it can't be or that it therefore exists in some other plane of existence.

It's a bit like believing that UFOs are aliens from outer space. Sure there are Flying Objects that are Unexplained; there are loads of events in the universe that haven't been explained. But it's a pretty big jump to say that just because we don't know what they are, that means they must be space ships from another planet!

I was in college when this happened. That night I was working in the laboratory in the 4th floor and I was alone in the lab section of the building. After I had finished my work, I got out from the lab, and I saw another student came out from an adjacent room. He smiled at me and then walked pass by me towards the stairs. I turned my head for a second to check if the lab door was locked securely. However, when I tried to look at him again, he was gone. I felt nothing strange at the moment and I assumed he was already taking the stairs. I immediately ran to catch him, trying to take the stairs together with him as I didn't want to be left alone in the building but he wasn't there. He was nowhere to be seen, so I just continued walking on my own.

I met a security guy in the foyer, and asked him if he saw a student coming out from the lab section ahead of me. I was really surprised when he said nobody ever coming out from the lab section but me. I was the first one to leave the building since he had started his shift.

The biggest shock came out in the morning! One of the college staff showed my a picture of the lad I had seen the night before, and he told me that the particular boy had been killed in a road accident a few hours before the moment I saw him coming out from the lab.
