help with webcam capture programs

Hi all,

Does anyone know what the best webcam, cam4, x-tube, y-tube etc, way of capturing these live. I've downloaded a few programs such as DawnArk WebCam Recorder, but these are only trial versions without full functions. I don't want to buy something that doesn't do the job.

I visit cam4, http://anonym.to/?http://www.cam4.com/male , a lot and have seen some very generous guys on there, I'd love to know if there is some software that coud capture these shows live so I could save them and watch over again.

I tried to achieve the same some time ago, cam4 really has some nice guys online. You probably found out yourself that you need a program to handle the rtmp protocol. There is a free windows program called orbit downloader that has a module that works together with firefox. Here's how to use it:

I haven't tried it myself since my windows VM doesn't work at the moment, and I don't know how safe it is to use it.

Ok,
just got the windows running and tested orbit. It works, but only in Internet Explorer 8, since a module called "grab pro" (not the same as grab++) is necessary for streaming media, and that's an IE plugin only. I successfully downloaded a test stream from cam4 as you can see, it plays perfectly with VLC:
