Hey guys, i got this new job, basically im an artist/animator at this new job that i'm working at, I was a storm model here in the UK not too long ago, i was fired because i refused to fly abroad for a photoshoot because it clashed with my new job, that ....and i gained a few pounds :pP, not much but enough to fire me, I couldn't meet the criteria to model at fashion week, got me super depressed but not bothered because everyone at the agency (including myself) were stick, sickly thin (im 6'3) so i think it was best...

Enter the hot coffee guy working at the place i get my breakfast before i start my job. He's the manager and is really nice to me. He asks me alot of questions and constantly smiles and what a beautiful smile he has and always makes conversations, i know he likes me, i sense something!

Yesterday morning while serving me he said "i'll make you my special hot chocolate", i smiled and asked "how special we talking about"? he smiled and said "very, just hope it isnt too salty" (sex joke??) and he gave me the chocolate, he drew a super cute smiley face on the foam, i blushed and made a quick exit.

Now i know he doesn't do this to everyone, my friends say he just serves them and says nothing, and they told me that joke was a sex joke ...if you get it. how do i show im interested? P.S despite modelling and being 23, im still a virgin because of my religion/ homophobic family and my east african descent. Can ya'll give me some advice? Was he flirting or being polite?

I wish I had a cute guy act like that with me. Ask him if you can stop by on his break and have a cup with him.

^ Yeah what he said.

Or just straight out ask him if he'd like to make 2 drinks instead of one and drink it with you. Should get the message across. With both my and Josh's suggestions you have the option of just saying you thought he was cool to chat to in a matey way if you've misread the situation (which I doubt you have).

And most of all, GOOD LUCK! May you soon have your own personal barista ;)

I say he was flirting with you.
The smiley face must have been so adorable!
If you are shy and don't feel like asking him out, maybe
you should just mention (casually) that you are gay.
If he likes you he will know what to do with that information.
Anyway, good luck!

I say he's interested. Go for it. You never know what could have been.

What's the worst thing that could happen? You get turned down and at the VERY worst you go somewhere else for your coffee. No big deal :)

I'll ask him out for a drink under friendship pretence and if he accepts Ill go guns blazing, I'll have to find a way to isolate him first, he is the manager of the place which is rather small so that'll prove to be difficult

It's probably best to be casual and act normal and not having a goal of conquering him. ;)

If as you say the signals are accurate, go straight to the point without frills.

I'll try, i've never asked a guy out before hence i lose my footing when I'm around him. It's odd though, i never get the hots for someone, i tower above him (6'3), am good looking so i constantly wonder, "why am i feeling so diffident! I'm a catch"

Anyone else had this problem? I dunno anymore, heck - a world of vain, immature, snobby male models never fazed me and yet an everyman gets me all worked up LOL! *sighs*

Maybe yours is just shyness. The shyness causes personal insecurity.

Vai quiet, even if he says no, you got to lose?

rant17, in the grand scheme of things 23 is still a kid. For many of us regardless of age there is always something to stumble over when you meet someone of interest. I am a king of the over-speak and often have the door slammed on me.

So here is a success story for me and it may work for you... I had this thing for a guy at the convenience store near me. Similar to your situation I struggled with whether he would be receptive. One day when we finished our little pleasant exchange I blurted out "you make my day when I come in here and see you working". He said, Sounds like you are flirting with me now. Maybe I am, I shot back. He said, About time! We went out for 3 years and remain friends.

Beautiful story! It really does put things in perspective. Yeah, about the age, i knew about my sexuality around secondary school (high school) but i couldnt act on them and start dating because id be in danger otherwise (religion, culture, family), still in the same situation but now i have the means of moving out. Everything's really new to me X_X

p.s i swear you're telekenetic, i was thinking of saying the exact same thing hahaha!
