With astonishment and curiosity. I am just such a tiny tiny little part of it. The world will not miss me when I am gone, but surely I will miss the world.

The world is just what it is, no more & no less. What I make of it reflects what I am, and that could be happy or sad, comical or serious, depending on where I am at the moment.

I do have to say, though, lots & lots of times when I read stuff or watch stuff on TV I'm struck by the absurdity of what other people seem to be making of it...

I view the world as screwed up and disturbing. When I see that you still have individuals fighting against gay couples having the same rights as straight couples or gay people being accepted as civilians as opposed to straight people after all of these years, and if someone supports it, they are ridiculed for doing so. It's still amazes me especially with all that is going in the world today. I also find it really disturbing that even within the gay community, you still find those who are subjected to racial discrimination because they are with someone out of their race, especially when I view the gay community being a minority itself.

You are SO right. And the reverse also disturbs me greatly: who should understand bigotry and discrimination better than black people, yet statistics show significantly more negativity toward gays among blacks than other races.

I think a lot of that is the Black church. They have been enbattled so long, it makes them resistant to change. In another thread we have been talking about the Polish church. Battled the Soviet domination, and now a very reactionary church.

I believe they will come around in their own time.

Do I ever agree, you guys all know by now that my husband Alex is a white blond Australian guy and I'm a black/latino from the islands in Central America. Although I'm naturalized Canadian it still puzzles me to see people trying to convince Alex that because he's a blond sexy white boy, he should go with another one just like him. It's like people saying that he's out of my league, when in fact I could as well be out of his league (because with my 36 years old I look as young as he does). Even when I was with women I wasn't a black/black couple, my daughter was made with a Venezuelan (half Spanish half Maya) woman, my son is half Filipino. My last daughter (from Alex's sperm, the ones I didn't swallow:rofl:) she's Australian/Thai. In my family we are mixed, no racism, no xenophobia.

I am banned from all black communities, one for being gay and open about it, two for being with a white boy, three for having children that are international. I see the world as a very disturbing platform, but I'm a strong individual, judgement don't affect me, I'm happy and they are sad, which is very sad.;)

They are people from the dry heart, living in a very restricted habitat, their.

Are people with no friends. Those who believe they are just acquaintances.

Frankly I think the hatred against the other, is envious of those who open their hearts and minds. ;)

Everybody is unique they say. In principle that is right, I think, but a lot of people do not behave like that. They act and pretend to think as it should. Deviant thoughts and behavior is for on the sly. Fear is the basic for their existence. They create their own prison. It is sad but also dangerous, because they defend their fortress by all means and make a lot of victims. There is even a name for this: civilization.

More insanity, less humanity...thats how the 'human centered' world comes off to me. We do live in a wonderful world, it's not just about us human. And it seems we haven't learned our lesson yet.

I've gone from having a happy go lucky, positive outlook to complete despair at humanity's actions and priorities.

The current system is rigged to destroy the planet and most peoples reactions range from indifference to hostility to the fact that you would dare bring the topic up.

*sigh*
