You're totally right X - our show was based on yours but (as the clip shows) it was pretty rough on bigots on BOTH sides of the pond because, as you pointed out, it DID show them as they were but you also knew where they where coming from because you grew up in that atmosphere but this show made you say...whoa? Is THAT how I look and really HOW I think??? (This was a time when TV actually challenged your mind instead of just feeding it cotton-candy or as WE call it in 2009 - Reality TV - total garbage IMO!)

We had another seminal 70's show here in the US ALSO based on the UK show called "Steptoe and Son" - and NOW FOR $10,000!!! NAME THAT US SHOW! (AND the network it originally played on...)

I sympathise for your feelings Thor, and understand how you might feel , but I can't for anyone who drives after drinking.

That's a hell of a bond!! We usually let them out over here until the court case, where they simply get fined and have their licence removed in most cases. We're too soft I think!
