I've had this massive hangover headache since first getting up this morning. It just won't go the hell away. Seriously, I hate that these things can last longer than the drunk did. Also seems like people I know have a sixth sense. When I'm trying to sleep one off, it seems like my phone rings more and my door gets knocked on more.

On the plus side, I woke up with two unopened beers under my pillow and, like all times before that I drank enough to have a bad hangover, I wound up with a new lighter.

Anyways, the remaining few beers numbed it a little and a greasy breakfast and more sleep helped somewhat. What does everyone else here do to cope with a bad hangover?

A hangover is another way of expressing the symptoms of ethyl alcohol poisoning and dehydration. IF your liver is not too far gone, the symptoms are, of course, reversible. One way to start avoiding a hangover is to drink at least the same amount of plain water (not carbonated) as your alcohol intake. If you have 6 beers, you should have 6 equivalent portions of water. Same for spirits and wines. Obviously, one drink (literally one) or one glass of wine or one beer will not produce a hangover. It's the overly high level after a night of partying that does it.

Your liver is the organ that detoxifies alcohol from the bloodstream. Too much too quickly, and it can't do the job; also, alcohol absorbs water within the body's metabolic cycle. Too much and your organs lose vital water and you feel like ass. That's the reason for the above advice - match drink for drink (in volume) with plain water. Then, before you hit the booze, get some carbs and protein in your stomach, to slow down the absorption rate. Chips, cheese puffs, finger food, etc. are good before and during your alcohol intake.

Oh yeah, take a coupla Advil and call me in the morning.:p

You actually get the headache because your brain is literally dehydrated.

Yep, you are always dehydrated after a night of drinking. Drink a ton of water or gator aid even if you don't want to and you will recover sooner.

A good blowjob will relieve it for a few minutes:rofl:

A few glasses of water the night before helps also. Although I cannot give advice as I have not had a hangover since I was 16.

I don't know whether what I do is scientifically proven but I always drink a glass of milk before I go out for drinking and when I come back home I drink 3-4 full glasses of water. The next morning I eat scramble egg or sunny side up

I've done this for about 2 years now and it's been serving me very well :)

Actually, lots of medical basis for what you suggest.:thumbs up: Milk is a dairy product, and those are good for coating the stomach to reduce (sometimes prevent) irritation when using alcohol. Some old school variations were buttermilk (very thick and tastes like liquid yogurt, sorta), and cottage cheese. Of course, too much dairy will cause diarrhea.

Drinking lots of water once home is part of re-hydrating your body:cheers:, since alcohol sucks up water from your brain tissue and other organs.....essentially what causes a hangover. The eggs for breakfast are another dairy product and good for you as well.:thumbs up:
