I apologize if I caused problems, posting by mistake and in good faith in my language.

I do not speak English.

I can communicate with friends of the forum, thanks to Google Translator, and believe me, with great difficulty.

You can not imagine how much time and effort used to post. A continuous copy and paste. It can happen, as happened now, can make mistakes.

This unfortunately has happened before (apologizing and trying to remedy), it could happen again.

If this is a problem for the forum, I can safely remove the trouble and to shut the door behind him without disturbing others.

With mortification.

bs

(I note that to complete this post took me 30 minutes)

Hi BS,

It's not a big deal - I just sent you a PM to ask for a translation. Mistakes happen, what mattes is whether or not they get fixed.

You fixed it, so it's all good.

Have a great weekend, and sorry for any trouble caused.

B.

Dear Sal,

please don't apologize for any English problems

All the messages we had with each other were always clear and good to understand.
And all I read from you in the several forum sections was always a pleasure and I think there was nobody who finally didn't understand you

Otherwise there is also the possibility to ask for more details if there is anything not clear.

It is definitely a big pleasure to read your posts as they are always well formulated and you have a really lovely way to post and encourage others to share their opinion as well.

I think many guys agree with me and for this reason, Sal, don't stop and please continue !!

Sal dude you do realize that English isn't the language of many people here? English isn't my first language either, when sometimes I read back my post and notice grammatical or phrasal error I just edit it. If I was to write in French then now spelling mistakes are corrected from the very beginning, but English is a difficult language to master because it does borrow words and expression from so many other languages that you need to be self aware of the etymology you'll be using. I speak with an accent, but I do not think with an accent. :p Neither do you!

Dear Sal,
I know what you are talking about. I’ve got the same problem. When you really want to express yourself it often involves deep feelings. My native language is Dutch and because of my mother (she was a German) I can also “feel” in German. Despite those abilities it is hard enough to express yourself properly, to tell exactly what you mean. Translating stuff into English is so difficult, often even impossible. The first time I posted a message on GH it felt as if I was standing bare naked on a crowded market place. You feel so vulnerable, because you have in fact no idea whether your message tells what you intended to tell or it tells complete rubbish. It takes courage to be vulnerable. Dear Big Sal, you are my Little Hero by posting. And please keep on posting, I like sharing your feelings.
A big hug,
Tjerk.

I encounter the same difficulty as you. I use translator as well it make mistake too cuz it doesn't has the equivalent words translation sometimes. And i know it takes time so that to make sense of translated text. But don't worry alot of us understand your posts in length and in depth :)

@Tjerk12: you describe pretty much how i feel. and i've not clicked "submit reply" god knows how many time, trying to reply some post, cuz i've not come up with a proper translation to express what i really mean.

No member on this forum should have to apologise for their English. I am sure that most members here are aware that there are a few posters that do not have English as a first language and are prepared to allow for that. Sometimes in the heat of an argument things can become a little heated, but on those occasions we need to step back and take things into account and ask ourselves did he/she actually mean that, or in that way.
We need to have comments and views from all our members that is how we learn from each other. So NO member should stop posting because of their lack of English and we should appreciate the effort put into posting.

Those of us with mother tongue English are terribly selfish, we expect everyone to be proficient in our language when we are the worst at learning other people's languages.
Machine translated English is a clunky read but that dosen't matter, what you mean always comes through, bigsal.
What us English speakers need to learn from this thread is to avoid complex words or idiom so that the translation is not any harder than it already is.
And dts your English does not suck, it would pass for native.
