I love Bœuf Bourgignon! <3 I find it difficult to find a place that makes it well .. I have only found one but it was just a rare thing.

I've never even seen it on the menu at a restaurant. I cook it myself about once a month. My version is adapted from the cookbook that Julia Child and Jacques Pépin did together.

Sometimes I use a bottle of Beaujolais (Gamay noir grape) instead of a bottle of Bourgogne (Pinot noir grape) for a change. (When I make a substitute, I guess you'd have to call it Bœuf Beaujolais instead, but it's delicious! And then sometimes I will use pork instead of beef, and that is delightful as well with the Beaujolais!) It's harder to find authentic Burgundy wine than it is to find a decent Beaujolais where I live. And I refuse to use a California wannabe Burgundy when I'm making my favorite dish. I think the California wineries should have just established their own identities and created their own crus instead of faking the French ones. They just come off as cheap pretenders and counterfeiters, even if their quality may sometimes equal the French originals (except Champagne, no one has made sparkling wines to come close to the real thing, California fake "champagne" is utterly dreadful).

The only California original I can think of is White Zinfandel. The rest just try to gain sales based on the mystique of the French originals.

bwa hahaha! you took the deal didn't you, 50 nuggets for 9.99. don't you a worry! I did it too, more than once! as for all the people who keep trying to tell me what it's made of, my chosen ignorance is my wonderful bliss.
I know, I know, it's bad for me, but they taste so damn good and fake.
As for knowing the gross, did you know, almost all fast food joints pass their meat for their meat patties through ammonia gas to kill the bacteria. Mwahahaha! Eat that! pun intended
As for the soda, I don't touch the stuff, I like my bones the way they are, phosphoric acid i believe, enters the blood and moves around ur body and melts ya bones away. My bones are brittle enough the way they are.
