I understand. That's OK. If you don't feel safe, then that has to be your first priority. But if you can't open up now, then think through what you can do to get you one small step in the direction of connecting with other people. That is your way out.

Getting involved in a gay online forum where you can discuss what you feel without having to reveal who you are (like this place!) is a good move. It lets you communicate without much risk. (I would avoid the dating / hookup sites until you are ready to have these conversations face to face.)
