u dont have to do that ! cuz gay`s are every were ! all u have to do is finding some gay friend for urself ! trust me , it will completly change ur life !
i was alone myself 2 years ago ! but i started to make a gay group (as friends) in my religious city ! it was hard , but possible ! now we have 5 people in our gay group ! we are best friends ! we are togheter alll the time , and one of them is my bf !

so....u see its not end of the world ! im living in actuall hell , but i am happy now ! cuz i did not let our idiot president or our murderer leader , ruin my life !

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but it's just so sad that gays are still oppressed in this world, but don't lose your hope or optimism. The situation may be better in the West, but homophobia exists everywhere and there are still gay couples who wouldn't dare hold hands in public for this reason. Society may not change, but you are not society, you have your own life and I'm sure there are many many gay Egyptians (and Iranians and so on) out there who face the the exact same dilemma. Once you find these people, you will probably feel less lonely and more at peace with yourself and with life. I guess it's more complicated than this, but I hope you'll be fine!
