yeah, everyone in Aus knew he was gay, we we just being polite and ignoring the giant pink elephant in the room until he was ready to acknowledge it himself. There's no point pestering him about it until he was ready.

Remember he was 16 when he shot to world attention. It's not easy being 16 and dealing with your sexuality for your normal 16 year old, much less so when you have world media on you and expectations from everyone to be something for them, when you haven't yet figured out what your expectations are for yourself.
