yeah I would because even if I just said I would, it would mean something to them. If I did, I would hope it would have some results for them. If it didn't - I'd never know but what did it really cost me? Almost nothing....

If I absolutely refused? I'd think I was an a-hole who wouldn't lift a finger for another human being and I wouldn't want to live on this planet as such a selfish individual...but that's just me.

peace,

no problem...it's just like ending a letter with a smile on your face and it's my wish to everyone I talk to in the world. I don't judge who you are, where you live, what language you speak or anything. My post script is simply "peace" which I'd hope is the wish every person on our planet would express to each other. We have 1000000 reasons to hate each other but each of us has a singular opportunity to like each other every time we talk. It can't hurt anything and i hope it helps the world in general.

Peace rant over and I know I'm a douche for thinking it but I prefer to be an optimist about the future of our planet - not a pessimist.

PEACE!

I can't see it either, and I'm not a total pessimist. I listen to all the philosophical debates etc on the radio and the general conclusion really is to prevent things happen as much as possible, as there will always be someone about to start a war (by war I mean that from something massive right down to a local spat with a neighbour) , the trick is to moderate the situation as much as possible.

A never ending job, but that's the way mankind is.

As for praying, I've said I would to people, it makes them feel better, even though as a non-believer it's all illogical to me.

Years ago I was contacted by a relative of an online friend who'd disappeared. We'd chatted most nights and suddenly he wasn't there anymore. He was somewhat older than me but was a great guy. He'd died :( She wanted to send me a prayer card and it would have been cruel to have said no, so I was happy to make her feel happy.

we are greedy but that's just the way the world works and it does works efficiently that way in economics ...just need to remember that not everything is material and sometimes u need to lose a bit to give someone else a lot.
I would pray for other person cos I believe in that although I dont think someone should ask since it should come from within :)

thanks D88, nice to see some new posters:)

but I'm not sure greed works in economics, isn't it best if all profit in the end?

nope hehe just read it a couple of days ago :D works more efficiently when I want profits with what I do because Ill make better products to convince you to buy what I have... but im being greedy to start. And you want my products...but you wont just pay for them, you would want to pay less and have more...so you're being greedy too.

Yeah I would =), specially if someone is sick or going through situations that stressful. You know what I think is also cool for those who are christian? If there are no priests around or for some theres been an accident and you know the person isn't going to make it? You can do anointing of the sick basically its gets rid of all their sins just before they pass away.. which I found very interesting to learn when I was young.

No, I absolutely would not; I would listen and give the person moral support, but not participate in anything religious. If they don't want human-to-human contact, then they will have to look elsewhere.

I would refuse. I'm a non-believer, and I think prayer is just pointless and serves no purpose. I won't lie to someone, telling him that sure I'll pray for you, and never do it. In my view, as an atheist, doing something like that makes them a prick and a liar.
