Golden Girls

That one could be tough, as there is sadly only one left now. :(

But if you are a Betty White fan (isn't everbody?)...check out Hot in Cleveland if you haven't seen it. It is a fun show in its second season, and reminds me a lot of Golden Girls.

Wild Wild West
Man from U.N.C.L.E.
Dead Like Me

I'll agree with Wild Wild West and Uncle. Not familiar with the 3rd. What was going on with the Robert Conrad character in WWW? Not only was he redhot, but the scriptwriters always had him in skintight Victorian era clothes which outrageously molded to his muscle butt and crack not to mention vacuum molding to his cock?

Then the scriptwriters always had him shirtless and tied up with his arms over his head, often dangling from the ceiling, exposing those manpits. Whew.

As for Uncle, there were all sorts of rumours that the U.N.C.L.E spy organization was real. They even had a credit at the end thanking them for technical existance. AFAIK, it was fictional. Was this ever settled?

They have both just very recently been cancelled, but I want them to bring back:

V and also
THE EVENT

I am pissed that just left the shows hanging and cancelled them right after I got into them.

Some shows end when they come to a natural end, and that's a good thing. Shows that don't recognise when it's time to stop turn from masterpieces into objects of ridicule.

The Simpsons would be a good example of a show that should have ended years ago, before it turned from sheer genius into formulaic drivel. And Fawlty Towers is an example of the opposite, the writers refused to do any more series once they ran out of inspiration, so that the show would end of a high instead of fizzling away.

Some shows though get cut off mid-stream, and those are the ones that I think should come back. I think the cancellation that made me swear the loudest is that of Fire Fly, that was a show that was just getting started, had a massive amount of planned plot laid out, and was getting better and better with each episode! They did eventually make a film to finish off the plot, but it would have been much richer had they done it as a series.

All that is a long way of saying that I'm glad many of my very favourite shows had the good sense to end at the right time, but that I really wish FireFly had been let reach it's potential.

Six feet under

Without hesitation SIX FEET UNDER. The chemistry between David and Keith was just ahhhhhh awesome. Seriously best show ever on television. All the characters were great.

Yeah, Robert Conrad was totally hot in that series, thanks to both his own charm and talent and some very astute constume designers. Being that the series ran during the era when guys were cool with showing off a nice basket and tight butt, it was at the leading edge of male fashion in terms of explicit tightness.

U.N.C.L.E. or the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement was totally fictional, and modeled after an amalgam of the CIA, FBI, INTERPOL and the NSA. The credit on the screen was just part of the gag. Robert Vaughan (starring as Napoleon Solo) explained that in an interview some time ago. It was the height of James Bond, superspies and escapist fantasy - so almost anything was grist for that mill. If you recall the series, you should recall how much covert BDSM there was in many of the episodes. I can remember numerous times when both Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin were tied to some bed or surface, burned, shocked, stretched or otherwise painfully dealt with, only to escape in time to save the world's ass. As a young guy just discovering my own latent desires in this area, I watched the show with more than average interest.

Their arch-nemesis - THRUSH (Technological Heirarchy for the Removal of Undesirables and the Subjugaton of Humanity) was loosely fashioned after Professor Moriarty's band of super criminals in Sherlock Holmes, and given the Ultimate Computer to bring it up into the latter 20th century.;)

Robert Conrad did some modeling before acting. I can't remember if he went nude or not. IRL, he was quite homophobic. I never got the connection between James West and James Bond until Will Smith made that clear years later. To me, WWW was a western. A couple of my earliest crushes were Gardner McKay in Adventures in Paradise, and Guy Madison, plus a wrestler name Ricky Starr who wore ballet shoes, and of course Steve Reeves was a god.

One of my favourite shows is Dallas -I've watched all 14 seasons. :blushing: There are also some come back episodes and made for TV movie-versions... and now a new series is on the cards:

And now for the credits... [drum roll]

DS9 is my favourite... less formulaic and a bit darker that the other series. Plus more character development/depth. But the Movies (especially II-VI) have a certain charm and are definitely at the core of the ST franchise.

The original G1 Transformers. The life action garbage in the movies is almost as painful as being forced to experience the US Godzilla movie a second time.
