Sweets, there is a SMALL risk from this ..but get a test just to make sure and the sooner you get the test the sooner you will get the negative result and then you can stop worrying .

THEN PLEASE TAKE MORE CARE / PRECAUTIONS IN FUTURE

and that advice goes to everybody else too obviously

Sweets...Don't panic!!!
Sounds like the activity you did was low risk. While I said low risk, it isn't no-risk. Really the high risk is bb anal. The important thing is to learn to manage the risk....not be scared of it. It's not any different than other kinds of risks that we face in our daily lives...it’s part of life. For instance, the risk of getting HIV from giving a BJ and eating cum (under normal circumstances, even in a gay bath) is probably lower than being in a fatal car accident on a US highway. Life has all kinds of risks, just learn what they are and how to manage them.

Back a couple of weeks ago, I sent you a web link of local gay resources that included gay health resources in your area. You need to contact them and become a regular patient and develop a proactive sexual health program.

If you’re sexually active, gay or str8 and doing casual sex, now days, you better have a regular schedule of testing for all STDs…not just HIV. That goes for all you guys on here!!

If you are really freaked out, they can give you a cocktail of anti-virals immediately after you have unprotected sex as a possible preventative measure. Not sure how long after and not sure research shows that it makes any difference. I think most doctors would say...your risk is low and probably it wouldn’t make sense to do it. Now if you had 30 guys anal fuck you bareback at the baths, I'm sure they would recommend it. Again, it’s about the level of risk. BTW, there is no immediate HIV test that can put you in the clear. It would take a series of tests over a period of time and even then its not for sure.

Like I said...be concerned, be smart, be proactive...but don't be scared or freaked. I can tell you from personal experience...though not proud of it....I have participated in lots of activities, and some very high risk, and thank God I have been lucky. Yes, including one wild night at the baths that included 20 guys bb anal fucking me and the final cum churning guy was 14x7. I don’t know how, but I'm negative. HIV can be transmitted the first time or by one time...but it is actually relatively hard to transmit. BTW…I don’t do that kind of stupid shit any more.

I truly think your ok sweets. Still go get a test and be more careful. Stick to the groping and fingering. Just no unprotected anal.

Here is a statement from the minesota aids project.
The public health and research folks are still sorting out the facts about HIV. A November, 2002 study by UCSF stated that there have been no cases of HIV being transmitted through receptive oral sex. Right now, we think that the risk of getting HIV from sucking dick is very low. If you suck dick though, you can make that risk practically nothing by using a condom when you give head. The best part is, flavored condoms don’t taste all that bad anymore.

Also this is from the University of San Francisco Center for AIDS Prevention
UCSF study finds no cases of HIV transmission from receptive oral sex
No cases of HIV transmission through unprotected receptive oral sex were found by researchers at UCSF's Center for AIDS Prevention Studies (CAPS) in a new study. The study looked at men who have sex with men and who exclusively practice oral sex as the receptive partner.

"HIV infection through receptive oral sex is a very rare event--statistically our study showed a probability of zero--and is rarer than HIV infection through receptive anal intercourse using a condom," said the study's lead author Kimberly Page Shafer, PhD, MPH, assistant professor of medicine at UCSF's CAPS. The findings are being published in the November 22, 2002 issue of AIDS.

The study enrolled 239 men who have sex with men starting in 1999 from anonymous testing and counseling sites in San Francisco. The participants reported no anal or vaginal sex and no injection drug use in the six months prior to entering the study. The participants reported a median of three partners with whom they had been the receptive partner for oral intercourse and ninety-eight percent reported unprotected receptive oral intercourse. Twenty-eight percent knew their partner was HIV-infected and of those, thirty-nine percent swallowed ejaculate.

"If you compare our group, which practiced oral sex exclusively, with men who engaged in receptive anal intercourse from the same testing sites during a similar time period--and considering both those who reported using protection and those who did not--you find significant HIV transmission even among those who used protection during receptive anal intercourse," said Shafer.

The participants were screened for HIV infection and also for recent HIV infection using both the standard test for HIV and a test for HIV that is "detuned" to detect only those HIV infections that have occurred within the six months prior to taking the test.

"Although this study is the first to try to systematically define the risk, case reports exist of HIV infections acquired through oral contact. While rare, acquiring HIV infection orally is possible and many other sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, and syphilis are transmitted orally," said Shafer.

The study is ongoing and the researchers will amend the findings with greater numbers.

I'd never swallow from anyone I wasn't in a relationship with. Sucking is quite low risk as has been said. If you do, then as long as there are no cuts in your mouth the stomach acids destroy the virus.

I've never engaged in anything risky myself, I've always been careful, but it amazes me the things I've seen over the years in places like that. It's like some people don't take any notice of medical warnings or read the papers etc. I've seen BB fucking , which is fun to watch admittedly, but I just couldn't help thinking that these people are putting their lives at risk for the sake of a half hour of pleasure!

I haven't visited anywhere like this in quite a long time, but on the rare occasion I did I remembered seeing some of the same faces each time!

From what you've said I don't think you're in any danger. There is such a thing as being too over cautious, but, as you can imagine, bathhouses / saunas are bound to be dodgy places.

HIV is actually quite hard to pass on compared with other things you can get. Hepititus is very debilitating and life-threatening and very contagious! Far more so than HIV. If you are going to make this any sort of regular habit then you MUST get the course of immunisation from your local std clinic!!

Like the other guys have told you - oral sex has a very low risk of getting HIV, very few cases have been mentioned - among those a addicted cocksucker that sucked an average 10 dicks pr day through a gloryhole in San Francisco for years and years, which off course was bound to irritate the mucosa in the oral cavity.

That being said in order to play safe use flavoured condoms when you are on the prowl ... and only have oral sex with a partner that you know are negative (One can never be sure - many gets HIV from their partners/BF/husbands, because they have had (Anal) sex with other guys.

If you really worry you can get PEP treatment with antiviral medications:

http://www.thebody.com/Forums/AIDS/Meds/Archive/PEP/index.html

Test can be taken at 6 weeks, 3 month (99,6 percent accuracy) and after 6 month (100 percent accuracy).

But the risk is very low and you probably have very little to worry about. Also be careful to let anybody finger you in one of these places - what if he has sperm on his hands? The risk of HIV is much higher with that activity! Do not let anybody penetrate you without wearing a condom or latex gloves.

Besides HIV the risk of getting other STDs are higher than HIV - herpes, syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea and HPV (Human papilloma Virus) can be transferred orally.

I also use a special body shampoo - I lather up my whole body and let the soap with insecticide sit for 10 min before I rinse it off. nearly everytime I have been to a bathhouse in London, Copenhagen or Amsterdam I have gotten Craps .... So I learned to use this body shampoo when I went to a bath house. Right after and 2 days later at home to be sure!

The only STD I have gotten is Chlamydia - from someone Sucking MY cock. I got a urinary discharge and discovered it that way and got treatment.

So take care when you are on the prowl - avoid too much alchohol and the use of any drugs - since you loose your inhibitions and might do something you shouldn't have done. It is too hard to worry every time about haven gotten an STD - it takes the fun out of SEX - and SEX should be fun!

I have lived with HIV for 25 years -- you DON'T want it.
That said, let me distill the facts: chance of transmission via mouth ALMOST NONE. Check GMHC.org or Kaiser Family Foundation website.
Barebacking?! BAD -- learn to live & love your condoms. Put them in your mouth like chewing gum. Practice when you masturbate, getting used to the feeling.
Your guilt from the baths? A variety of factors, my son: we're all taught to feel bad at pleasure in our society. Is your guilt from sex with someone you did not like? did not see? from simply being in a dirty environment? Try to isolate what feeling of your own that you betrayed to make you feel guilty about the act of love.

Feel free to PM me if you would like further, detailed info & resources.

EVERYONE: If, for some reason, you had a stranger's come in your ass, you can go to your clinic or physician the following day and request PEP -- Post Exposure Prophylaxis. This means taking a few doses of the AIDS drugs right away. It is quite effective. But you obviously can't just go doing that every week. Respect yourself and take care; feel confident about the baths if you are not heavily drugged and you are in charge of your actions.

there's a medical test who tells you if you hav HIV in twenty minutes, but anyway you have to take in acount several things...
1- that people may not have HIV
2- the risk of get HIV trought oral sex is low because the HIV pass through the blood, if you dont have wounds in your mouth, its hard to get HIV
try the medical test to be sure but i think you dont have HIV
