Images acting differently

Since the rebirth, images in the XXX Gay Clips section seem to act differently (in almost all cases).

They used to appear in the post itself, or showed a thumb that would open a new window with the full sized image.

Now they almost always appear as a URL in the post, which in most cases generates a tiny - and pretty useless - image of the screencaps when clicked.

Any ideas?

Of course, now that I have mentioned it, many (not all) are showing better sized expansions after clicking on the URL. Almost all, however, still show a URL - not the image - in the post itself.

I've just tried both of these ....I saw thumbs and they opened full size with no problems..

What browser are you using ggold? Im IE7..

Safari latest. And in the old mode as well, so no changes here.

Just Googled Safari and so you must be on a Mac..and as I am not a Mac user there's not a lot of further help I can give you. Even less if you have not changed any settings your end. If I can locate a techie minded Mac owner on the staff/forum Ill direct them here..so keep dropping in.

Same at me.

I guess the problem is because of the browser or the operating system you use.

Admins are already informed about this problem and if there are any technical problems with the forum software, they will try to solve that.

I do keep tabs on that post. And yes, Mac - sorry, I just assumed everyone knew.

One interesting point is that some have become bigger as time has passed. Not by themselves, I assume, but ...

This is still going on. I haven't isolated a service, but about half of the thumbs still appear at about 1 1/2 inches square after clicking on the link. Others are larger, most fit to screen size.

And, the links still show up now as text, rather than as they did "before", as thumbs.

I can't believe it is my browser, as it was fine before the changes, and not so after, and I have changed nothing. I am always open to ideas, however.

We have moved to a new server and changed the version. I believe the new version had some settings changed that made something not work for you well. I can only suggest that you use Firefox browser for now until a new version is released and we update the forum to it.

FYI, in one post, a moderator pointed out that a link, not a piccie, appeared for a screencap. In fact, in my experience that happens on every post made since the upgrade.

Also, I have tried Firefox and get the same results. Impossible to make use of most of the screenshots from the links.

Since we have not received any other complaints about this issue I can only assume it's a problem with your machine. I will be happy to try helping you out through msn/yahoo messenger so send me a pm with you addy if you are interested (I'll be online until the end of this day only). I can also suggest that you try browsing the forum on a different machine if possible, to see if you get the same results.

Ggold has just PM'd me ..here are some stats on what he sees...the 1st set is Magicmedias posts...there are issues with these displays already.I cannot see these either.

I have just checked with Ggold NONE of small pics are live/clickable so DO NOT open up to larger versions.

Yes safari have some issues! in my case i use Firefox for OS X works fine for me.
