Internet companies could be forced to track you

THE Federal Government is considering forcing internet providers like Telstra and Optus to keep records of what their customers do online.

The records could include people's web browsing history and emails and be held for several years, according to technology website ZDNet.

At the moment a warrant is needed before an internet service provider can begin logging a user's web browsing history.

The Attorney-General's Department said it was considering adopting a data retention scheme similar to one introduced in Europe after the Madrid train bombings.

Under that directive, passed by the European Union in 2006, telephone and internet companies are forced to log details of communications for up to two years.

Only details about the date and time of each phone call, or each time a user connects to the internet, are collected. The content of each communication is not stored.

However industry sources told ZDNet the scheme being considered by the Australian Government would be more far-reaching and could include tracking each website visited by users.

what else is fucking new--unless you are a politician or in office of government-- work for insurance companies and so on we as the working class have no rights--we work day in and day out to support these lazy fucks on welfare--and they get free health care--while we at work pay for shitty insarance that wont pay shit when sick--our rights here in the usa are being stripped from us day by day --i think if they see where people are discussing terroristic threats and stuff sure keep records and contrary to everyones belief porn isnt illegal as long as its not underage and not seen by minors which i didnt have the internet for that when i was a kid i just had by olde brother girly mags to look at and my dads porn --sure the internet offers more porn to be viewed and easily seen by minors but lets remember they are minors and they are curious and n othing has changed over the years in the worl od boy curiousity and the natural curiosity that comes along with it--



anyhow we can keep waisting tax dollars on petty shit like that or we can spend it where it needs to be--better healthcare and more stuff for the working class and quit letting the lazy asses keep getting shit for free
