I noticed a few 'odd' behaviors in some of the forum postings that had video preview images where I'd get 'flashing' within the browser when clicking to enter the thread, a few such 'strobes' and then things appeared to be normal which I took to perhaps be something about the browser and the images. this was in the 'streaming' forum and I'm using 'early' software FF62 on current beta of MacOS with current Flash. Is that a reasonable combination, or is there something better that can avoid this wierd display issue. It isn't stopping me, just bizarre and briefly sort of annoying to have it flashing at you while it I guess is loading post by post in the thread those preview images. If I see a real pattern to which posts/threads or something to maybe make the question clearer, I'll add details. I didn't immediately see a common thread to it, seemed random to me.

I've been on the forum for a year now (my how time flies) and I haven't heard of a "preferred browser". I mostly use it in Chrome in Windows 10 and have fairly new HP Pavilion. I've also used it in Foxfire and Opera and haven't had any issues. I don't like using IE or that new Edge so I kinda avoid those. And I haven't tried it on Safari, but I'd assume that there'd be no issues there either. Maybe I'll have to try them out there just to see. But nope, in general, haven't heard of a preferred one.

As far as I know there's no general recommendation from the GH staff concerning a preferred browser.

I'll only add to what my friend RazzmaTazz has said to state my own choice for the present - I'm using Avast Secure Browser on Windows 10. (I'm not really sure if there's an Avast Browser version for Mac...).

If a site says;
"Works best with xyz browser"
then it has not been designed properly.
It's like saying that "this car runs best on Shell fuels". Only true if there's something wrong with it.
The best browser is whichever one you yourself personally like.

Hi, Kirk.

If I read a post and dont have time to reply at that moment, is there a way to flag it so I can find it easily later?

Many thanks.

I don't know a real way to flag, but you could thank the original poster and have a look at your statistics later, so you will find the thanked ones. :)

Or another way for single posts: Write a short answer and come back later with more time. So you can edit the post. It will be marked as edited, but you can find them easy again, in your statistics. :wave:

Assuming you mean the OP in this thread, you could also Subscribe to this thread (under Thread Tools) and then it would register under the User CP link.

Meanwhile I do prefer Pale Moon, it's a kinda Firefox clone, but older plugins which are no longer supported on FF are working there, like DownThemAll.
