Issue 2: Morman Boyz - Creepy Or Not?

Second issue rather a seperate thread but that's up to the moderators, let me know otherwise.

I have an issue with MB in that at first I found it creepy. I suppose in view of a lot of things that have happened in the church worldwide coloured my view of the series

However, having viewed more, I like the hairy dad types and bearded hipsters, the smooth twinks are ok, but I have seemed to have gotten over the creepy nature of it and I enjoy it.

I do have an issue with the actors not using condoms but what I'm asking is, I really felt it was wrong, I know it is a business and I know it is consensual, but I've gone from agreeing it is nasty to enjoying the scenes.

Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on MB. As I typed, I'm not into the twinks in it that much but the inter generational scenes they are hot and they are not abuse.

I love real Mormon guys (I was one) I have always want to see a Mormon in porn and when I found out about M.B I was so happy, that was until in saw one. it was a big let down now some of their videos are hot like the ones with two missionaries but the ones with the older guy are creepy to me. and yes I know porn is a fantasy but the other thing that bothered me was how wrong it all is, the church is not one big gay orgy (I wish it was know a lot of guys I want to fuck) but I was glad they got the underwear right

The twink on twink scenes don't bother me, and I have no problem with the older younger stuff. Hell, I'm 46 and still fuck around with 18-19 yo every chance I get. But what I do find creepy is someone in a position of authority taking advantage of people. That's a major boner killer for me.

I'll just stick to twinks with daddy issues...

I agree with brmstn69 that the creepy part is that the older men seem to be in a position of authority over the younger guys and that is how they are getting to have their sexual adventures with them. That I think is wrong. I have no problem with the daddy/son type porn scenes, they are some of the hottest out there. I've had a lot of my own times as the "son" in many sexual adventures, but it was all consensual. I would have an issue if it was a teacher of mine who wanted sexual favors for a better grade, or a scout leader taking troop member out for a private hike if the sex were somehow as a bargain for something better.

I've never been a religious person, and you're going to have to message me to talk about that since I saw religion was a banned subject, but though I think the MB scenes are pretty hot, it's kind of a turn off that they are using a major religion as the basis for their site. Just my opinion.

I'm ambivalent to neutral on this studio: my mixed feelings parallel much of what others have already said. It was a cute (if cheap) shot at Mormon hypocrisy when they started a few years ago, but now it IS getting to be a bit much with the repetitive, overt (and largely fake) Mormon trappings. After what seems 100 clips, I begin to wonder if there really are THAT many guys who fetishize goofy white ritual underwear? Or is that just a pretext for the running theme of being "initiated" into the "secret brotherhood" of homosexuality?

Their initial "Daddy" really resonated with me: "Bishop Angus" is exactly my type of musclebear, and he was refreshingly different from other similar porn actors at first. He reminded me of the gym teacher I drooled over when I was 14: day after day, I daydreamed he would haul me into his office and humiliate me for being so un-athletic (what exactly that would entail, I was hazy on). But Angus has been overused, and is starting to look worn out. The "Daddys" who alternate with him aren't nearly as interesting (please, somebody make Max Sargent retire already).

The whole "abusing position of authority" issue doesn't bother me very much. Its a fantasy: a very specific fantasy that frees the secret triggers some of us have buried down in the sub-basement of our gay sensibility. Twink aspirants submitting to the Bishops in MBZ vids are no more morally questionable than the clerks submitting to their bosses in most Men At Play videos, and on par with Nica Noelle's "Forgive Me Father" conflicted priest series at IconMale. The "abusive authority" or "coercive daddy" angle is played more figurative than literal: its usually clear the "victims" feel liberated by the experience, and enter into it with their eyes wide open.

The ancient trope of "I didn't initiate it, its not my fault, he/she made me get off on it" remains a potent subconscious sexual concept for many men and women. It isn't literal abuse being craved or depicted: its the feeling of responsibility or shame being lifted, of being "innocent" of doing exactly what you wanted to do anyway. The videos or written fantasies are a vehicle to release veiled inhibitions that can still haunt us even in our supposedly progressive era. It is unfortunate that these vids strike some people as promoting or condoning actual abuse, but that isn't really their intent or purpose. These videos are for guys who get off on the idea of submitting to an older authoritative male, plain and simple.

Of course, victims of actual abuse may react to such fantasy material in a very different and negative manner, so should probably avoid such depictions unless they find them somehow therapeutic or cathartic. I have known a few people who did find such videos unexpectedly helpful in their healing, but for others it would be a painful reminder of a time they desperately wish to forget.

I have to say when I read the title of this thread that includes the phrase "Issue 2:" my mind immediately without hesitation thought it was a reference to Dana Carvey doing his John McLaughlin talk show impression:

As someone who knows the LDS Church well and is familiar further with the implications of what that means in the lives of members, the whole concern about "abusing authority" that people are concerned about here, is really just a parody of the whole church. That's what the church does in real life. It imposes itself in peoples' lives, and it's what they are expected to do. If you ever go to a church event in which some church elder speaks to the attendees, you can't but fail to note how members are consistently talked down to. "You will [do this]....you will not [think that]...etc. The first time I experienced this, I was with a friend who was a former Mormon, and asked him, "Isn't this guy (the speaker) way out of line in how he's talking to the public?" And my friend responded, "Not at all, that's how General Authorities (one of the leading bodies of the church) talk. It's standard Mormon-speak to the masses."

So I've always viewed the coercive/abusive scenarios acted out on Mormonboyz (particularly in its early days when it was owned by its founder, which it's not today) as not just parody, but insightful commentary.

I think their films are kinda boring and repetive. I like authority asset, older younger and the nastyness and the barebacking etc. but I don't like the whiteness of everything(what I have watched the setting is kinda white, clothes are white... like being in some dentists reception). It all feels kinda too clean, bit like Helix studios. Note: kinda.

And the religion theme, well, it's fantasy. If it offends, don't watch.

I don't find any personal moral issue with their porn that I don't find in any other porn. They try to be different and give people smth new that they like. It's a product.

And on porns moral issues I see them from very Finnish view: if person is forced to do porn cause he doesn't have money to live, it's a social problem. The problem is not the porn, but the society that makes exploitation easy. And cause in most countries social security isn't that high nor they even think it's necessary, in my opinnion it kinda gives it bublic acception. Note: kinda. Haven't really given this a thorough thought, more like thinking out loud.

But I would love to see some Finnish gay porn, but haven't really found any. Damn you social insurance for keeping people well funded without the desperate need to make porn:no: Just kidding, real reason is brolly that we haven't got the industey for it. Brolly the taxes and legislations would kill it, and like always when we try to copy smth it turns out crap. I mean every Finnish version of any known series is pure vomit:rofl:
