Well, first snow of the season here in New Jersey. Not cold enough for much accumulation but its nice to look at...Anyone care to join me for a Hot Toddy in front of the fireplace that I dont have?

What's the weather in your area?

(looking out my bedroom window - if that white house wasnt there, the NYC skyline would be visible)

This looks so beautiful... ^^

I was talking to my mother this morning, mentioning that I don't think we get snow this year... she's more optimistic then me ^^

At the moment it's raining :(

Nice photo Joe :)

Rarely snows here where I am, a rare treat - as long as I don't have to go out far in it :p

I got the feeling (dont tell me why) that you lived in a snowy area.

I think its going to be bad here this year, based on our "cool" summer.

snowy area?

It snows from time to time but the snow never stays more then a week.
We have oceanic climate here and I don't live very high, about 350m or so...

I so envy you Goe right now...and all those who have snow in their cities!!! I love snow but here snow is absent! It never snows or if it does, it only last for a day or less:(

I don't actually hate snow, just going out in it. I think I need some of those chain things you can put around shoes, as more and more I feel insecure walking in snow.

Gettin' old eh?

I'm like that :p I walk to work & back and everytime it gets icy I get nervous lol If we get a heavy snowfall I leave very early so I can get to work before everyone's trampled in it and it's like glass !

Wet leaves are another nightmare !

This is outside my front door at 10:15PM.
It's 20 degrees, and we have just a dusting of snow.
We usually have more by now.

Today's high temperature for us was thirty two degrees Fahrenheit. We haven't seen so much as a single flake of snow - but people relatively close to us are getting it, because I saw a car go by yesterday with snow piled on its roof and trunk.
I hope we don't get any snow at all this winter. I'm just not a fan.

Just frost thus far...

But around here we get rain first that freezes, then snow on top of that, followed by a nice ice storm to seal everything in...X_X

From last January...

It looks pretty, but in reality it was fucking nasty...

wow the icicles look beautiful :)

Well, I like the winter. It looks all white and innocent :p
In my area the first snow fall a month ago, but after 2 days it was gone. Now, there is no snow yet.

A beautiful winter picture I found on google:

Like I said, it looks nice, but the weight of all that ice brought down a bunch of trees and power lines. Some people were without power for up to a month after the storm. It was so bad that hardware stores like Home Depot stayed open 24 hours a day for the weekend so people could by emergency generators, kerosene heaters, lanterns, flashlights, etc.
Walmart was even sold out of kerosene and lamp oil...

Snow always looks lovely in photos, or through the window, but I agree, it's not pleasant when it hangs around. Fortunately we don't suffer ice storms around here, that must be pretty terrifying and nasty.

Nice photos though :)
