OPPs and to answer the post yes i would, without giving it a second thought. But in all honesty the act in itself is selfish. Our desire to die for a loved one may be perpetuated by our fear of living without them..and they are left to live alone without you, with a guilt that they caused your death. And even if it isnt driven by our fear of living without the loved one, that person is forced to live without you, which in all honesty is just as painful as death itself--and thus the loved one is not saved!

Interesting way round to look at it ! On the other hand though, pain eases with time, so although not forgotten, in the end they'd be grateful, whereas if you stood and did nothing you may never get over the guilt !

well if u say pain eases over time, aren't almost saying that one can get over the guilt of not doing something either? im just being silly...best scenario is a case inwhich such a scenario never happenns..EVER! I'm quite young, but i can't imagine dying even if for a loved one would be pleasant...i can only hope i never have to make such a choice!
