I have done this a couple of times. They just figure ah one time wont hurt. then they get all emotional after the fact and you never hear from them again or as often..

My advice is if you really like this guy and really enjoy his company. Don't do it. Take a few photos of him and have some fun with them.

This is true. One of my friends and I made the mistake of crossing that line and now we don't even speak to each other. There are days I miss him in my life, but he was a different person when he was in a relationship. That's something else you may want to consider. People aren't the same when they enter a relationship.
